Intro

Private.com, XXX Exclusive Photosets, Private Video Productions, All Private Magazines, and the self proclaimed "Best Livesex Provider". Private Media Group looks to be an industry leader when it comes to content. Starting way back in 1965, they were the first to produce a full-color adult publication. Since then they have changed ownership and taken their role in the adult industry to a whole new level making Forbes Global as "one of the Top 20 Best Small Companies in the World for 2002", I'd say they've come a long way. Just looking at the tour, the site design is clean but it's a little overwhelming, the amount of stuff they have going on here. But that's also what makes it excited, too. Now with more than 31,000 images and 2,000 videos for $29.95 per month.

The Pros

Large Archive of Private Magazine Content.

Not only are you gaining access to years and years of Private Magazine archives (2003-2010) from Pirate, Private, Sex, and TripleX. These are some great looking magazine photos. They are breathtaking, raw, and often highly artistic with many different picture angles, shadows, and ranges in focus. Video scenes also contain a series of images that look nice.

Good Quality Content, Some HD.

This is all professionally shot content with great focus, angles and color/picture quality. Both the pics and the scenes look great. They've even started offering some scenes in downloadable HD format. They offer bitrate speeds up to 4800k and look great! I wish they offered all of their content these days with the HD quality download option. Flash streams look nice, too.

Large Video Collection.

In addition to the Private Magazine offerings you're also gaining access to more than 360 Private DVD titles totaling in more than 2,000 scenes. You'll find everything from Anal and ATM to interracial, fetish content, MILF and more.

Other Good Stuff:

Videos can be streamed in your browser using Flash and downloaded as a WMV in two quality settings. Newest videos also offer a MP4 format for your mobile device.
Just this week alone there were more than 17 DVD scenes added. Most scenes also offer digital images, making for just a ton of new material to check out daily.
Getting around is made easier by a stars index and the separation of magazine content from the DVD's. They don't offer quite enough browse/filter options, but the drop-down menu of content categories, and separation of the different magazine series is a nice touch.

The Cons

Not All Recent Scenes Are HD.

I'm not quite sure why but it seems like only a small % of the newly added scenes are offered in HD. You'd think since they have control over their own content that they could make all of the video updates HD format, but that doesn't appear to be the case currently. I'd say about 1 in 5 or so scene updates at this point have the HD option.

Not 100% Exclusive.

This is original Private content and while you probably can't find it plastered all over the Internet like many other Studio content, it should be mentioned that you may recognize a few of these titles, stars and can buy the content itself.

Older Scenes Don't Look As Good.

Not only do they not look as good, but if you go way back into the video scene archives it appears as though these videos are stream only without any sort of download option. Your user name and password is required a couple of times to view them. Scenes hover around 1500k throughout the site.

Minor Negatives:

Even from the beginning they've got the Magazine date archives listed back to 1965 but have never offered anything past 2003. It looks like you have to join Private Classics for access to those at a separate cost. It should also be noted that no new magazine content has come out since 2010.
Download speeds could be faster. I wasn't able to get speeds past 850KB/second with just 4 channel capability as opposed to 8 that most sites offer. Many times I wasn't able to browse the site while downloading the videos either.
An advanced search tool would make browsing the site even easier for users. Multiple filters through the models, categories, type of content, etc.

Bottom Line

Decades worth of racy magazines archived in a very user friendly way.

It looks like Private.com is still trucking along here online offering multiple daily updates, most of which are from their DVD titles as the Magazines section doesn't appear to be updated any more these days. HD video additions are a nice touch, but I wish all of the updates offered it! And at this point I don't think users are going to see archives go back to 1965, you'll have to join their sister site Private Classics for that. The site design is clean and offers some nice browse tools but there is definite room for expansion. There used to be a price break for TBP users, but at this point a membership appears to be set at about $30 bucks per month. It should prove to be worth it for those of you who have maintained big time fans of Private content.
