Wanted List is a large DVD site with around 31,800 rentals currently or 5,240 VODs. The unlimited DVD rentals option is a product similar to Netflix, but for porno. The unlimited adult Video On Demand option is what we'll be reviewing here today. It's a stream-only service that will set you back about $20 bucks per month. There is also a selection of hybrid or combo plans that allow both rentals and unlimited VOD. These plans start at $35.99 per month for 2 video rentals at a time, plus the VOD option. Either way you choose it, Wanted List clearly is one DVD site with a little something for everyone.
The Pros
Large Collection of DVD's.
Whether you're here for the rentals, the VOD, or both there are a ton of DVD titles to choose from. More than 31,700 rentals and 5,240 full VOD's and counting is just a lot of content with a fair amount of variety. Total porn scenes is at an amzaing # and there should be a little bit of something for everyone.
Some Nice Browse Tools.
Getting around is easy, thanks to a clean design, and plenty of browse tools; genres, studios, and stars are listed, along with new and top rated DVD's. A keyword search feature is offered at the top of the page and users can collect/add favorites to their collection.
Unique Membership Options.
Users can use Wanted List like Netflix for porn with video rental options starting at 2 at a time and up to 8 DVD rentals at a time, or they can join the VOD site. There is even a hybrid option that offers both services together. At the very least, for less than $20 bucks per month users can stream unlimited DVD titles with some downloads also being offered for some of them.
Other Good Stuff:
Lots of information is provided for most DVD titles. You'll find performer lists, studio info, descriptions, reviews, a boxcover, and even DVD features for a lot of the movies. They let you know what you'll be seeing before you actually rent the movie.
Although updates appear to happen about 2 times per month they are massive. Last update saw more than 29 new titles added in 1 day.
Downloadable titles offer bitrate speeds up to 2700k (720x540)- they can look really nice!
The Cons
Non-Exclusive DVD Content.
As is the case with most DVD sites, these are DVDs and video scenes that you can find on other sites or by ordering the actual DVD yourself.
Most Videos Are Stream-Only (VOD Members).
The bulk of the content here is stream-only and can't be downloaded. Currently there are just 1,429 downloadable videos (less than 200 more than last time we were here). The streaming videos obviously don't offer the same quality or sizing that you can get from the downloads.
Inconsistent Download Options.
If the videos are downloadable you won't always find the same options being offered. Most are either Xvid or H.264 in multiple quality format but some offer one and not the other, or without the different quality options. WMV download file format would be a nice addition, as would even higher quality options.
Minor Negatives:
It should be noted that many of the DVDs can only be rented through the mail or purchased (there are about 31,800 rental movies but only 5,240 VOD movies). There's no actual streaming or download option at all. That doesn't do members who want to stay online for porn a lot of good.
During my visit the rental portion of the site was down "for maintenance". Not only was I not able to add rentals to my queue, but I also wasn't able to access portions of my account.
Even though the updates are massive, I'd rather see 5-10 new titles added daily than wait 20 days to see 29 new titles added.
Bottom Line
The Netflix of porno along with a decent sized collection of VOD titles.
Wanted List is not just the Netflix of porno, it's also a VOD site with more than 5,200 titles listed for stream (some for download). There are many options for membership, whether you choose to rent or stream online and that's a great thing for users who like options. In terms of a VOD site, I thought Wanted List was mostly good in terms of site design/browsing. Quality could be improved for streaming and download options/quality could be better/more consistent overall. Either way you take it, Wanted List is worth a look for users contemplating Adult DVD rentals for the home with an option for some online streaming as well.
