Intro

Maskurbate is a very unique site whose name had me guessing at what we'd find here. Lo and behold, I found hot stud on stud action, their faces hidden by masks. Their slogan is "Would you do it with a mask?"D and they allow models to remain completely private about their identity. They say they've filmed businessmen, doctors, artists, and real regular men who want to live out their fantasies online with confidentiality. Oh, and don't be fooled by the name, there's plenty more action here than just masturbation.

The Pros

Exclusive content with a unique theme.

All the content here is exclusive and quite original. I can tell you I haven't seen anything even kind of like this. Some sites have dabbled in the mask thing before, but I haven't seen a gay site do like this. Most of the masks only cover half of the guys' faces, so you do get a peek at what they look like. A few even return to be unmasked! These are all original scenes that you won't find anywhere else.

Good quality videos.

The videos look good. They play at up to 2300k and are 1024 x 576, with older scenes at 1500k that are 640x480 in size. Despite using all amateur men and going for an amateur feel, these are high quality scenes. The videos are noted as HD, and while they're not exactly that, the videos are sharp and good-looking.

Other Good Stuff:

There are a few options for viewing these videos. Most scenes can be streamed in Flash and downloaded as a wmv or mp4.
Quick downloads! Using the browser I got speeds of 4.2mbps while using a download manager the videos came in at 6.2mbps. No waiting needed for these scenes!
The site is pretty good-sized. There are currently 127 scenes online. The videos aren't terribly long, at around 12 minutes each, but there are enough of them.

The Cons

No browse tools.

There aren't really any features for getting around the site. The scenes are all listed in the order they were added with no way to sort the men alphabetically or by physical feature. That leaves you scrolling and clicking through 11 pages of scenes to find who you're looking for.

No update dates.

None of the scenes are dated and there is no update log. It looks like the site is being updated a few times a month, but with no update log or dated content, I'm not sure. There are currently 127 videos online, so at least you've got a pretty good collection of stuff to watch while you're waiting for updates.

Minor Negatives:

There are no photos here. This is a video only site.
The older videos lack the mp4 download option.
Why not make the move to HD? They're close enough. 1280x 720 would be a great upgrade.

Bottom Line

An entertaining and original video that could use a few more tools.

I really liked the concept and the videos on Maskurbate, I just would like to see a more advanced site. If they bulked up the user features, they could score high with me. More browse tools and some update info would be a big help. For $25 a month, it's certainly worth a try, and maybe you'll even decide to try it in a mask yourself.
