Intro

Male Digital is a gay DVD archive site featuring hundreds of DVDs that can be downloaded without restrictions. There's no DRM here, not even a daily download limit. Members are invited to just sit back and enjoy this large collection of wild gay scenes. As is usually the case with DVD sites like this, the whole library is viewable to visitors, so go ahead and check out the catalog and see what you think there.

The Pros

Large collection of DVDs.

This is a good-sized site. You'll find 1,575 scenes from 289 DVDs, with a total of 2,353 GB of content. That's enough content to be able to fill out plenty of categories. They've got ass play, gloryholes, interracial, guys in uniform, etc etc. There's plenty to enjoy.

Easy to navigate.

Getting around the site is no problem. Browse by studio, series, category, and series. You can also see the latest movies and those that are coming soon. View the most popular scenes as well as the "Best DVDs". The design is good-looking, as well, so it's easy enough to make your way through the site.

Other Good Stuff:

Daily updates. At least one DVD is added to the site every day.
Readers of The Best Porn can join Male Digital at a special discount price of $15 a month. That's half the regular price of $30 a month!
Quick downloads! Using the browser I got speeds of 3.0mbps. No waiting needed for these scenes!
Each scene has vidcaps. They actually looked better than I expected, at 720x480, and they're useful for previewing a scene.
Possibly exclusive content. It's hard to say for sure. They advertise it as exclusive, but these are obviously DVDs that you can purchase elsewhere. They come from different studios, so I'm not sure how original they are either. Anyhow, they're advertised as such so that's a plus.

The Cons

DVD details could be better.

Some of the DVDs lack info, like star lists and descriptions. Also, nothing is cross-linked. They provide a list of the categories that the movie falls into, but you can't click on those categories to see more similar scenes. The same is true for those that do have star lists. You can't click on the names and see more of that actor's scenes.

Average quality video.

The scenes play at up to 2200k and 720x480 in size. They don't look bad, but they weren't nearly as sharp as I thought they should have been. Though most scenes have a professional feel to them, I thought the actual quality of the scenes came up short and was just average.

Minor Negatives:

The member's area had banners and links to other paysites and camsites. They make the site feel cluttered and detract from the overall look.
Could use more browse tools. An advanced search feature would be great, as would the ability to browse by star.

Bottom Line

Good in a lot of areas, though not particularly great.

Male Digital offers up a nice-sized collection of gay videos on a mostly good site. Nothing here really blew me away, except for maybe the special discount price. Otherwise things were basically just fine. Sharper video would help a lot (HD anyone?), and even more user tools would also be great to see. Overall, if you're in the market for a pretty good gay DVD site, that's Male Digital.
