Intro

At first glance Lifestyle Amateurs might seem like an overly expensive amateur site. $39.95 is more than what most are used to spending on Networks these days, not to mention paysites. But Lifestyle Amateurs is a community driven group of 29 amateur model sites, each of which are advertised as being created and maintained by that individual. All together these sites make up more than 1,1035 photo galleries and close to 300 videos. The main members area looks just like it does in the tour and individual sites are kept consistently designed as well.

The Pros

Original Idea, Design & Amateur Content.

Lifestyle Amateurs is a Network like none-other I've seen. Sure there are other Networks that function as a Network of amateur girl sites, but this is almost like a service for young models looking for a site template, place and forum where they can showcase their stuff. Site set-ups are not 100% exactly the same, but pretty close in terms of design & function. Some girls write short blurbs in their blogs while others do not. Similarly, some girls have a large collection (220 sets & 95 videos) while others might only have something like 19 photo sets and that it.

Main Network Page & Easy To Browse Design.

I liked the fluidity of browsing all the sites. All sites are available from the main member's hub and a drop down menu is located at the top of every page thanks to a static menu bar. Once you get to know some of the girls and put names to their faces, getting back and forth from site to site is easy. All content is listed on a single page in date order, with video listings at the bottom of the page.

Other Good Stuff:

You will find amateurs that range from young to old and everywhere in between. The variety is quite nice overall.
Content quality ranges but can be pretty good. I saw videos with bitrates up to 3000k, although the norm is something closer to 1000k and below.
Zip files are offered for all image sets throughout the Network sites.
Member profiles, personal messaging, favorites, etc.

The Cons

Many Sites Don't Get Updated Often Enough.

You think that with 29 models under its roof Lifestyle amateurs would see updates coming in quite often. Unfortunately that's no exactly the case. A few sites haven't been updated in months, with the largest lag coming from a model named Ella who hasn't updated since Sept. 2009. A couple other models since Oct. 2009, and even a few more that last updated at least 2 months ago (at the time of this review).

Quality Ranges & is Average to Below.

Overall you're not going to find the same consistency and HQ specs that you would from most other paysites. Image sizes range but average around 970x748. They're definitely amateur in style & lighting/focus can be off at times. Videos too range from 800k bitrates up to 3000k, but even the latter didn't look like it should at that rate.

Minor Negatives:

Most of the models don't even write in their blogs. They also don't post very much information about any of them. Some sort of clever bio page should be mandatory for the models so users can get a true sense of their personalities.
Considering the large number of models (29)/sites, this is still not a very large Network of content overall, and the price tag versus value is off.
Download speeds without the use of a download manager were extremely slow for me.
Content categories or an advanced search feature would be helpful for users to find content specifics and model types.

Bottom Line

Great concept, good execution but not without flaws & a hefty price tag.

Considering the price of admission I was expecting more from Lifestyle Amateurs. The concept is great, and even the execution is pretty good overall, but they need a little more action from their models in terms of blog entries and personality for things to really take off. Apparently you can join a single site for less than $15 bucks per month, which may be the way to go if you really like one of the girls and are clear on her updates, content counts, etc. Given time to grow and evolve with higher quality specs, and more dedicated participants, Lifestyle Amateurs could really be on to something great.
