Intro

Fling.com is up for review today, and they obviously have a dating site here complete with tons of profiles, and some extra content in the form of member photos and videos. It's pretty standard as far as dating sites go. There are huge numbers with lots of members, probably not a ton of true, organic hookups going on, and at least some amateur content to check out. There are a couple of membership options depending how active and featured you want to be; those generally range from $25 to $35 a month.

The Pros

Lots of profiles up.

I guess if numbers are important, they seem like they're doing good here. There's a ton of profiles up (someone counted over a million here somewhere), and there are plenty of people online right now.

Video chat could be fun.

I couldn't really check it out, but they have a nice video chat feature where you can get hooked up with other people on cam. They also have private cam shows, but those are from a third-party site.

Lots of random content.

The member pictures and videos could provide a few gems in the huge haystack. There's some real amateur porn in there if you can find it, so it'd be worth it to check into what they have there.

The Cons

I don't see much hooking up actually happening here.

The profiles are too fake and far between, and they don't even have a great messaging system setup to get to know people (it seems rather basic - where are the stats on how often people reply?). It just seems like all the other dating sites I've seen, which means there's nothing special that I saw.

Lots of empty/fake profiles.

Many profiles have no photos (though at least you can filter those out if you want), and many contain obviously fake photos. There just didn't seem to be a large percentage of real people available here. I'd love to see a much better verification system in place.

Many extras are just 3rd party plugins.

Between the private cam setup, and the sex shop, and who knows what else, many of the extras aren't even their own. You could probably find better cams, or a better store, elsewhere if you just looked on your own.

Minor Negatives:

There are several ads around inside the member's area. Even right after you login, there's a full page ad before you can hit the actual splash page.

Bottom Line

There's just nothing too exciting or unique here for me.

Fling.com has a great name, and lots of profiles, but nothing unique. For me, it's the same as all the other dating sites out there. I don't think you can find many true hookups here. About the only reason I'd join is the amateur content, but even that is tough to browse and get through. There were lots of empty or fake profiles found, but there are a few real people to check out (though how often you'll actually hear back from them, who knows). Someone needs to come along and really verify people, offer some great connections, and do more than their competition. There's just too much random stuff going on here to really get involved and connected with anyone.
