Whoa, where to even begin?! Find An Amateur is a bit overwhelming at first, to say the least. The cluttered look is intimidating, but it also indicates just how large this collection is. So what IS the collection? Well, Find An Amateur is a pay-per-view network of sites created by real amateur folks. They will assist you in building your own site and then you become part of the network that their visitors can choose to purchase access to. It's definitely an intriguing idea.

The Pros

Huge collection!

Find An Amateur is a massive collection that includes 1,700 galleries and 51,000 videos according to our counts. In addition to all of that, there are also live webcams broadcasting constantly, many blogs, forums, even escorts to keep you busy. This is a huge network with plenty to keep members busy.

Anyone can do it.

One of the coolest parts of Find An Amateur is the fact that any member can potentially become a performer. They make it easy to set up your own site using a MySpace-style template that you can just upload your content to. Folks can be enjoying your content (and actually paying you for it) in no time.

Real, raw amateur action.

The true appeal of a site like this is the fact that it's made up our of real amateur content, not scripted pornstar sex. These are real couples getting naughty in their own homes. There's something sexy about how personal material like this is. The performers are exploring their own fetishes and interests and that really comes across in their scenes.

Other Good Stuff:

Updates come daily. In fact, you can count on multiple galleries, videos, and entire sites added here every single day.

The Cons

Design and layout need a lot of work.

I experienced a lot of frustration getting around this site. There are just so many links on every single page! I also found that the pages loaded slowly (probably because there is just so much on every page). There are too many links, too much text, and not enough emphasis on making the site look good with graphics and details like that. I also felt that the browse and search tools weren't robust enough for a collection of this size. The look and functionality were just too basic.

Content quality varies but is usually poor.

This is always the case on a site with essentially user-submitted content. The quality of the material is left to the whims and ability of the amateur performers snapping pictures in their homes. There are some real gems here, but unfortunately they're outnumbered by smaller, grainier photos and galleries. Don't forget this is most certainly an amateur collection.

Can get very expensive.

PPV collections are notoriously expensive but Find An Amateur exceeded even my expectations. You'll spend $2 for 1 credit. Galleries and videos cost between .5 and 5 credits typically, so between $1 and $10. That's for A gallery or video. Webcam shows and extras like that go up from there. There are specials, as I discussed above, but ultimately you're going to spend a lot of cash here if you want to see much at all.

Bottom Line

A large amateur collection with a unique set-up, but there are some big issues.

Find An Amateur gets points for originality. I definitely haven't seen anything like this before. The sheer size of the network is impressive, as is just how active it is. Unfortunately, I'm not so sure the PPV price model works so well with amateur quality content. You get less for your money with PPV, and usually a site will try to make up for that with high quality material, but quality also is a weakness here. If you know that going into the site that quality won't be the best, there's plenty to enjoy here but there's still room for improvement.
