Intro

DVD Box is a movie download site with thousands of DVD titles available across a whole host of popular and specialty niches and fetishes. It's a general collection geared at a mainstream audience with movies from a bunch of different studios. The guest tour is set-up in an open book format so visitors can browse the collection just as members see it which means you can find out before signing up if they have the titles, stars, and series here that would interest you. Things are straightforward in that regard and what you see is what you get.

The Pros

Big Collection of Hardcore DVDs, Popular Niches & Daily Updates.

DVD Box has thousands of titles from a bunch of different production studios so there is hardcore action that hits on all the popular niches along with some more focused specialty categories too. The total number of movies is over six thousand making quantity the site's best strength. They do add one new movie every day and have each movie clearly date-stamped. There is also a countdown ticker and list of upcoming movies.

Full-Scene Downloadable WMV Files & In-Browser Flash.

Download and viewing options are functional and solid with full-scene WMV format for downloading along with in-browser Flash streaming. This set-up is consistent across the board on the newer and older movies so that's good. While not overly flashy they have the fundamentals covered.

Other Good Stuff:

Good information is posted for each movie including front/back box covers, written description, running time length,preview thumbnails for each scene, member ratings, and hyperlinked pornstar names and niche categories.
Navigation includes the fundaments that you like to see from a DVD archive like this with chronological, niche, studio, series, and model index browsing. There is also a keyword search tool.
These guys have set up a discount price that's really cheap for the first month and the recurs at a higher but still relatively inexpensive price.

The Cons

Non-Exclusive Content, Some Niches Not Updated Very Often.

The content here is non-original movies from studios so this is the type of material that can also be found on other paysites out there. Looking through the list of niche categories with the updates being one DVD per day you do get some sections with little or no activity for lengthy periods of time. Depending what kind of action is your favorite there might only be a smaller number of titles available.

Just One Video Format for Downloading, No File Details.

As a movie download site the options here are pretty limited with the WMV files being the one choice for saving to your computer. The quality is also only average at around 2000k 720x480 on the higher level files. No file size specifics are posted which would have been helpful as I ran into movies ranging from about 100MB to over 900MB in size.

Minor Negatives:

The model index is incomplete in terms of the preview thumbnail photos. A lot of them are missing which makes that a less useful navigation tool that it should be.
Member area upsells for purchasing DVDs and live cams.

Bottom Line

A straightforward DVD download site with a ton of movies available.

DVD Box meets expectations in that it has a big archive of full length downloadable hardcore movies. The video quality and options are only okay but they do have the basics in place with WMV and Flash. They continue to roll along with one new DVD each day for updates.
