Intro

Boys Casting is part of the Male Unit network which is also known as the Gay Star Network. It's a collection of over a dozen sites from this French Canadian company that shoots their own original content. Boys Casting has a video/amateur/audition theme and features video episodes with some picture galleries too. The site isn't actually being updated any longer but it does have a decent amount of shoots available and remains a part of the company's network.

The Pros

Exclusive Hardcore Audition Style Video Episodes.

The centerpiece of the content is the downloadable video episodes which feature guy/guy hardcore oral and anal action. They usually start with some interview style chatting with the cameraman which fits well with the audition/amateur theme. The total number of video shoots is near a hundred which is all right for an original video site like this.

Full-Video WMV, QT, MP4 Downloads, Flash Streaming.

The choices are the same for the majority of episodes and they're decent choices too. They include full-video and clip segment WMV files and full-video QT and MP4 formats. The quality is about average for a paysite and neither a big asset nor a negative.

Other Good Stuff:

Network access to Male Unit which includes lots of additional gay sites/videos.
This is a Montreal based company so many models are French-Canadian which some surfers may enjoy.
Clear file size information is posted for each movie.

The Cons

No Longer Updating, Last New Episode Added Several Years Back.

Right away this clearly jumps out as the most significant negative here. This seems to happen with a lot of reality type video sites and Boys Casting is another example. It seems they were actively adding episode for a couple years and then stopped. The content count is okay but the episodes haven't changed in quite a number of years now. It appears this will just stay as it is in the company's network.

Clips Only on Some Older Shoots, No Full-Episode File.

The very oldest episodes have the same content options except that they only have the WMV clips without the full-shoot file. Generally they're broken into about 4 parts and the file sizes are pretty small. What's odd is that on the last page or two of episodes some of these do have the full-file while others don't. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

Minor Negatives:

No specific update details on the shoots, just general info like '4 years ago'.
Member rating/comments system is not very useful and has few comments.
The join page has pre-checked cross-sells.

Bottom Line

A network site with original audition style hardcore episodes but the site is no longer updating.

Boys Casting does have exclusive shoots that fit well with the audition/amateur site theme. The French-Canadian guys might also be of interest to some surfers and help add some uniqueness to the content. Because it's no longer updating and has an average to small amount of total content it's best to view the site as one part of the company's larger network.
