POV Porn is up for review today, and it's one of those sites that we've seen a couple of times already and know what to expect. Peter is still alive and kicking here, and fucking girls on camera of course. The idea isn't that out there, but you don't see too many sites dedicated to the point-of-view niche, where the guy is holding the camera while he fucks the girl. Peter finds some cuties, some of whom you've seen before no doubt, but they look good nonetheless. It's a simple site that focuses on the content, without too many extras. He started shooting in high definition this last year, which has brought the quality up quite nicely. Updates are still a bit of a question mark, though I don't think they come ultra-often as the site would be larger by now. $30 a month gets you in the door, which is a little high, but hopefully not too bad for what you get.
The Pros
Pretty unique, exclusive content.
While the POV thing isn't the newest idea in the world, you don't see it done too often. He pulls it off well here, and though not every second of every video is POV, he keeps his face hidden and keeps himself out of the shot as much as possible. What really makes it fun are the cute girls and decent fucking scenes that follow. Of course it's all exclusive, unless somehow he found some Peter clones out there to shoot the same type of video for him.
HD videos look great!
I really like the high definition upgrade here that took place in the last year. The newest videos look much better, and the HD quality is pretty good overall. They're a huge jump from the early stuff he did back in 2001-2002, and it's nice to see the site keeping up with current technology. Now if we could only boost the HD numbers as quickly as possible, we'd be all set.
Other Good Stuff:
I liked the few category selections he offered to narrow down the content quickly. There's not a ton of variety here in the content, so it gets the job done only having a few to choose from.
It's not huge, especially considering he's been shooting since 2001, but there's a decent amount of content up here with over 200 scenes currently.
The models here are cuter than normal I'd say, which is always a plus. There are several you might recognize, but I'm sure they get shot a lot for a reason. On the flip side, there are some models that he calls exclusive to the site, which is cool as well.
The design is clean and simple here, while still keeping the homemade feel he needed to.
The Cons
More download options would help.
Both the video and photo downloads could be better overall in my opinion. While he offers three different WMV quality options, they're all just WMV still. Another video type would help. Even better would be the addition of a Flash streaming option to move things forward. The photos are standard, except they only come in one size (no big deal) and don't offer any zip files (kind of a big deal).
Quality can be bad at times.
The oldest stuff looks the worst of course, but I say it's better to leave it online than to take it down to improve his quality scores. They get better and better with time, but just beware that not all of the videos look as good as the most recent ones. In fact, I'd say a majority of them are below average by today's standards.
Not sure about the updates.
I was told that Peter was trying to add update dates to everything on the site, but it doesn't look like that has happened yet. For now, we're left unsure of when the updates come; on top of that, for how long he's been shooting, I'm surprised there's not more to see here. 200 scenes isn't bad, but spread that out over seven years or whatever, and it doesn't add up to weekly updates even.
Minor Negatives:
There are no zip files available here for the photo galleries, which may be annoying for some.
The blog is a weird beast here. First, the posts are all out of order. Second, the links on the right to choose a month don't do anything for me.
I really wish he had some model bios here. He spends a decent amount of time with the girls I assume, so it'd add some great interaction overall in my opinion.
When browsing through the galleries/updates, there are eight pages that are linked. However, about half of them are empty. Why are there more page numbers than there are actual pages?
Bottom Line
Unique fun content on a simple site, with only a few small upgrades needed.
POV Porn is all about the content in my eyes, as the girls look good and the scenes are fun. The site is simple, but looks decent and gets the job done. I'd love to see a few more features to narrow things down, but the categories are at least nice to have. The download options are minimal, with three WMV videos and no zip files, so those could be boosted up a bit as well. Updates aren't dated, so I'd love to see dates and lots of frequent updates as well. The quality gets worse and worse as you get farther back in the collection, but the new HD videos should be a huge hit as they start to grow in numbers. He does a pretty good job all around, and I think it's worth a look if you like this type of content. Nothing is perfect, but it's entertaining and should get you off more than a few times, which is all that really matters for porn in the end.
