JAV HQ is up for review today, and this appears to be a Japanese porn site with content pulled from DVD sources based on the titles. The site is pretty standard, though there was less censoring than I'm used to seeing on similar sites, so that's a plus I guess. The content varies a lot in terms of action, with things like hairy bush, threesomes, and more being represented. $30 a month gets you in the door, which is a little high, but pretty standard for this type of site.
The Pros
Large collection.
There's a lot to see here, just as expected for this type of site. There are over 950 video scenes up currently, with more coming daily. That should take you quite a while to get through it before getting too bored I'd say.
Daily updates.
A new video is put up daily right now, which is a great schedule if they can keep it up. It has fluctuated in the past, but I'm hoping it sticks here. The photos are updated every few days as well, though that seems to be a newer area.
Other Good Stuff:
They offer good descriptions for the video scenes for sure. You can get a great idea of what happens before downloading the whole thing.
The Cons
Serach could be better.
Their main search is just a simple box that seems to search the title and description, which isn't always helpful. They do tag each video scene, but I didn't see a place to search through a list of those at all unfortunately. I think they need to set up a much more advanced search area for how much content they offer.
Non-exclusive content.
It's tough to tell for 100% certainty, but just looking at the videos and the titles, I'd have to guess this isn't exclusive material. If you're a fan of these sites, double check their offerings to make sure there's enough fresh for you.
Quality is just okay.
The videos don't look too bad, but they don't look that great either unfortunately. They could use a bump up in size (at least to full DVD resolution), plus ease up on the compression a bit.
Minor Negatives:
The movies are not 720p as labeled. To me, 720p means HD videos coming in at 1280x720; they're nowhere near that. Plus, they're not WMV as labeled, but AVI videos. Maybe they use a WMV codec of some kind.
The movie length times are all wrong as well. These things say each clip is 2,000-3,000 minutes, which is obviously not the case at all.
Bottom Line
A pretty basic Japanese porn site with lots to see, but it's not perfect.
So many of these types of sites are similar that it makes me wonder why none of them go the extra mile to really stand out from the crowd. JAV HQ offers a decent number of videos, daily updates, and some fun scenes, but nothing above and beyond what you could see on any other similar sites. The girls are all Asian (Japanese I assume), and then porn is kinky, as expected. From there, it's pretty basic. Navigation is okay, but could be better. Video quality isn't the best, and could be improved. The price is a little high, but not too outrageous. If they could bump the quality up, set up an advanced search feature, and maybe some more download options, things could get cranking. For now, it's good, but not a whole lot different from the crowd.
