Intro

Homoactive.tv is a gay PPV DVD site offering more than 640 titles with some exclusive content listed in a section of its own. Credit packages start at about 20 Euro going up to 150 Euro with the cost of a movie minute averaging around 0.15 to 0.30 - not bad. Some movies can also be downloaded and there is even a small selection (18 currently) of HD quality offerings. Apparently bonus points can also be accumulated and used towards future free credits to be used on the site.

The Pros

Good Collection of Gay DVD Content, Some Exclusive.

Homoactive.tv offers a decent-sized library for its users. There are currently more than 640 full-length DVD's in their collection. Between the multiple niche themes & model categories users are likely to find exactly what they're in the mood for, and even some unique themes like skaters, bareback, watersports, muscle hunks and more. There is even s selection of 26 exclusive DVD titles.

A Few HD Downloads.

Not only does Homoactive offer a small selection of exclusive titles, but they also offer a small selection of HD quality downloads. Currently there are just 18 of them and even the streaming quality is higher, although I'm not sure it's exactly HD. The downloads, however, offer 1280x720 sizing with bitrate speeds up to 6000k. They look really nice, I just wish there were more of them.

Other Good Stuff:

This week alone 10 full DVD titles were added. Spencer noted during his last review that only 2 new DVDs were added in the week prior to his review so it looks like things may be picking up.
The site design is clean & professional. Browse options include a few selections for sorting like what's new, HD, special deals, best sellers, exclusive, or by themes, or model types. There is also a listing of the studios featured here.
Even though this is a PPV site, which can always get expensive, Homoactive.tv is not so bad, comparatively, with per minute streaming starting at 0.08 Euro and up to 0.30 Euro.

The Cons

PPV Can Get Expensive.

Obviously a PPV method isn't a preferred one for those who like the biggest bang for their buck.

Rental downloads are available for at least 222 of the videos, but generally speaking, this is not a video download site and nothing is yours to keep.

Most of the Content is Non-Exclusive.

As with most of the large collection DVD sites, the videos here are non-exclusive and can likely be found elsewhere online.

Quality Could Still be Better at Times.

Some video picture quality looked good, while others didn't make the cut. I would love to see the addition of even higher format offerings for even more titles in the near future.

Search Could be More Advanced.

Currently the search feature is a simple keyword search box. At this point most DVD sites offer multiple filtering options and advances search browsing. While the design here is clean & professional, browsing is limited.

Minor Negatives:

Compared to other gay DVD sites, Homoactive.tv is on the smaller, simpler side, not offering the same amount of unique extreme themes or viewing options even when it comes to the streaming.

Bottom Line

A basic gay PPV site with a small selection of HD and exclusive titles.

Homoactive.tv is worth checking out for its small collection of exclusive and HD content. For a PPV site pricing isn't too bad, but one must remember the charge is in Euros, so not quite the same bargain for us in non-European Union countries. There is definite room for advancement in terms of browse-ability and viewing options, but for a basic gay DVD site that appears to be updating often enough, Homoactive.tv is worth a look.
