Intro

The "amateur" twinks featured on Spunk Starz will do whatever it takes to become real "stars". The premise here is first time models in hot gay action. The member's area offers a good amount of video content as well as more than 100 photo sets. You're $29.95 monthly fee also gives access to another 5 gay sites including Defiant Boyz and Gay Asian Twinkz.

The Pros

Exclusive Amateur Gay Content.

As far as I can tell everything here is original and exclusive to the site. The young amateurs are photographed and taped doing all sorts of naughty things. You'll find solo masturbation scenes, guy-guy anal and blowjobs, along with orgies and multi-guy blowjobs. You'll even find 2 boys having sex in a car, in a church parking lot - naughty! There's also some variety with the men although most are young twinks and a few studs.

Updates Often.

Each week at least 2 new videos and 2 new photosets are added to the site. Date stamps on all of the content confirm the consistency and reliability of this. All new content is posted right on the member's homepage so it's easy to see exactly what's new and jump right to it.

The Cons

Slow Download Speeds At Times.

Downloading the video at Spunk Starz was an awefull pain in the ass for me. I wasn't able to reach speeds above 150KB/second the first visit and 650KB/second the next day. Needless to say it took almost between 5 and 30 minutes to download anything. However, I was pleased to see it improve during my second visit to the site.

Quality Needs Improvement.

Streaming bitrates are stuck around 400k. Obviously they don't look so hot. The higher quality WMV option for the newest videos goes up to 1500k (640x480) and are average at best, nearing on below average considering many sites are offering HD quality these days.

Minimal Browse Features & No Model Index.

There aren't enough ways to browse the site. The videos are posted in the order they were added and that is it. There's no search box, no categories, no model index, no way to view other scenes in the same series, nothing. None of the scene names or actor names are cross-linked to find their other scenes, so you're simply left to sift through 114 scenes to find what you're looking for.

Low Daily Download Limit.

It's amazing to me that they'd place a daily download limit of just 500MB!! Considering single videos can be up to 300MB alone, that's just robbery! I highly suggest they remove the daily download limit to make this site more appealing to paying users.

Minor Negatives:

No model bio information is offered and often times only short content descriptions are given, or even none at all.

Bottom Line

Entertaining gay content but the daily download limit hurts.

Spunk Starz has some highly entertaining gay video content, I'll give them that. Where they fall short is in terms of quality, user features and model/content information. Also, the daily download limit is like a slap in the face to users paying almost $30 bucks per month for a membership. Granted you are given additional site access, and new updates are added often, but I'd think twice about joining any sites that puts those kind of limits on its members.
