Hot Movies is a video-on-demand website featuring thousands of movies available in a pay-per-minute and rental system. This is a massive site that features just about any movie you can think of. Of course, the video-on-demand niche is some rough terrain plagued by limited access and high prices. The good news is that the entire site including their complete movie listing is available to all users for browsing without spending a dime. Hot Movies' friendly design makes it easy to fully examine the site before making any decisions.

The Pros

Huge collection of scenes!

Hot Movies has more than 163,000 movies currently available. They've got videos from well over 300 studios reaching far beyond the Red Light District and Vivid flicks that are available on every other video site. They feature thousands of pornstars covering just about every niche imaginable. You're unlikely to find a larger or more complete collection anywhere else.

Good viewing options.

I was pleasantly surprised with how many choices they offer for viewing these scenes. If you want to stream it, you have a choice of WMV and Silverlight, with up to four quality settings! You can start at the beginning of the movie or jump right into the scene that interests you most. Newer movies include a mobile mp4 option. You also have an option of a 7 day streaming rental, a lifetime streaming rental, or a DVD purchase.

Easy to navigate.

Hot Movies includes lots of tools to make navigation easy. They have lists of categories, stars, studios, and directors. Browse by series or DVD. Check out the newest releases or the most popular scenes. There's also a great advanced search that lets you combine all those things to pinpoint exactly what you're looking for. They make it easy to browse the large site.

Other Good Stuff:

New movies are added often. Though nothing is dated, they advertise 5 new DVDs daily.
Although the prices are high here (as noted below), overall it is among the cheaper PPV sites. You can get their lowest rate with a smaller package than other sites require you to buy. Also, their multi-day rentals cost less and often give a few more days of access.
They provide a great amount of information about the DVDs and even go into detail on the individual scene, telling you who to expect in each act, as well as the setting and action. Run time and studio names are also provided.

The Cons

Expensive PPV set-up.

As is always the case on pay per view sites, things can get expensive fast. At best, you're paying 8 cents per minute (and that's if you buy the most expensive package of minutes which requires an initial outlay of $87). That works out to around $7 for each full-length DVD to be streamed (or $6 if you do the 7 day rental). Compare that to other standard paysites that may cost $20 and provide unlimited downloads of their DVD collections, and the value here is questionable.

Streaming-only videos.

Unless you choose the higher priced download option, all the videos are only available in streaming. These scenes play in your browser for a limited time and when they're done, you're done.

Minor Negatives:

The design could be better. At best, it's too plain, at worst, it's cluttered and dated-looking.
These are all DVD scenes that can be found elsewhere. That's no big surprise for this genre, however members should keep in mind there's nothing original here.
Quality was average. It wasn't bad, but most of the scenes could be sharper. Even the newer "Ultra" quality level left me unimpressed.
Download speeds are super slow! The videos that can be downloaded are so slow on the download I bet you'll bust your nut before you even get to watching them. Make sure to plan ahead!

Bottom Line

This massive pay per view site offers a great collection and is user-friendly.

It doesn't get bigger than Hot Movies. Their collection of scenes is unparalleled. No matter what you're looking for, you'll find it in this huge site. Hot Movies is user-friendly and the price is fair as far as PPV sites go. There are a few drawbacks, but they come with the PPV territory and most have little to do with Hot Movies itself. All in all, if you're looking for a streaming PPV site, Hot Movies should definitely be the first place you check out.
