Intro

Playboy Cyber Club is up for review today, and this is one of many Playboy sites that have popped up over the last few years to really give them a good online presence. I believe this is one of their flagship sites, as they offer everything from Playmates (every single one is featured here), to Cyber Girls, to celebrities, to coeds, to amateurs and more. There's a ton to see here overall, and if you're a fan of the bunny's company, this should be on your must-see list. Just $15 a month gets you in the door thanks to a special discount they've hooked up for our users.

The Pros

Huge collection!

It's so large that we can't even put an accurate number down unfortunately. We have a pretty good guess for our content counts, which puts them at around 26,000 photos and 1,300 videos, but take that with a grain of salt. The archives go back over half a century, and they're adding new content constantly.

Daily updates.

As long as you're not too picky on which section you get your new content from, there will be something new for you every day here. It can be as simple as a behind the scenes video that's two minutes long, or several photo galleries plus a video or three. They do well at keeping things fresh and keeping the site growing.

Other Good Stuff:

Quality is pretty good all around these days. Videos generally come in HD if they're recent, and the photos always have that Playboy touch that make them look so classy.
Of course, their content is exclusive. A lot of it is pulled from their magazine archives, but they also make a big deal to add online extras so you get something new for your money here.
$15 is a great bargain for all that you get here. Their normal price is $20 a month, which isn't bad either, but the special discount they setup really puts them in a whole new category of pricing.

The Cons

Navigation isn't the best.

There's just so much content here, and so many different sections, that I think they have a very difficult task of making the site easy enough to get around. As it stands, it's not bad, but it's just not very intuitive. New users may be confused as to what all the different sections are. They do have a couple of search options in place, but you have to know specifically what you're looking for already. If you're just looking for brunettes over 25, there's no easy way to find that. I'd look for them to add more ways to browse the site (see just the newest videos, for instance) for those that are just looking around for something interesting, or within a certain genre.

Pictures could be larger.

They actually vary quite a bit depending what section you're in. I'd love for things to get more consistent in this area overall to start off. The largest pictures they offer are a pretty good size, with around 2800 pixels on the long side. However, they're hard to find, and there aren't a ton of them. The quality is there on these photos, so anything they can do to expand the size for computer use is definitely appreciated.

Minor Negatives:

All of their pictures here follow a very specific pattern to their file names. They're all just renamed to be numbers, which means if you want to save pics from different sets, you will run into files of the same name.
Though they have an in-browser video available here, it's not an actual streaming video. You can only jump ahead so far as you've actually downloaded, instead of being able to jump around right away.
There are a few ads in the member's area which definitely make the site feel a little more cluttered than it needs to be.
As usual, since they come from a magazine background, their image galleries are usually on the small side here. Even their videos can be rather short at times.

Bottom Line

Their only problems stem from the fact that they have too much content here!

Playboy Cyber Club has a fun problem to deal with in that they just offer so much material that it's hard to really categorize it well. For newcomers, I think you could get overwhelmed pretty easily, and you may not know the difference between a Cyber Girl of the week, and a coed of the month. However, once you get into the swing of things, you really get a lot for your money here. There's plenty to see, with archives going back to the 1950's, as well as their latest and greatest HD video they probably shot in 2011. Quality is pretty good these days, though the picture specs are a little inconsistent at times (I'd love to see larger photos all around). Navigation could be streamlined a bit, mostly to make it easier to find stuff you don't even know you're looking for. In the end, Playboy offers a ton here, and it'd be well worth the time and small investment if you're a fan of the genre.
