Intro

Wasteland is one of those sites that goes back to the earliest days of the adult internet business. As they state in their member's area the site has been updated weekly since 1995. The site is an institution in the BDSM/fetish categories and there is something to be said for that in this industry. The scope of their content really does represent new trends with high-definition level videos all the way back old school Japanese bondage pictures from back in the day. Much of what they have to offer is exclusive with photos, videos, plus lots of other types of things including community features, articles, bdsm guides, and similar items.

The Pros

Well Established Site, Entertaining Exclusive BDSM/Fetish Collection.

Both the picture gallery and video sections in the member's area have multiple sub-categories with Wasteland Original Galleries/Movies at the top of the lists. There is a lot for member's to see all of which is bdsm and fetish related with lots of different variables in play including solo model, guy/girl, girl/girl, and all types of fetish implements you can imagine. It's a site that really is best defined as general hardcore fetish/bdsm site which gives the site broad appeal to lots of fetish fans.

Large Content Collection, Years of Archives & Tons of Pic Gallerie

There's just a ton of photo galleries and the videos has a full-length feature films area along with several other types of movies as well. Quantity is Wasteland's best asset as it should be with this site's age and history. The raw number of movies isn't as robust as the photo gallery total but there are full-length movies and exclusive HD videos so those offset the quantity issue.

Newer Videos Have HD Quality Downloads, Dedicated HD Section.

To me the HD videos (1280x720 2100k) section is the most impressive of the content items. Movies are offered in WMV and MP4 with videos usually broken into two parts. There are also zipped full-video WMV files too so those are helpful for those who don't want to go with the two separate parts. In-browser Flash streaming is also an option and they play quickly however the file loads while playing so it's not possible to jump ahead immediately to the middle or end of the scene.

Weekly Updates w/ Log, Many Varied Content Items Added Each Time.

Normally weekly updates would be considered and average pace for a paysite. Wasteland however has a track record of so many years that it stands out as a positive. They call it Wasteland's Weekly Edition and each update includes roughly a dozen or so items across all content sections and the log breaks them down and links over to each one.

The Cons

Picture/Video Quality & Options Vary, Lower Quality Older Material

When dealing with a site that has been around for such a long time the content quality and formatting will obviously have evolved over time. As you bump around to the different photo gallery and video sections the quality ranges from quite nice on newer shoots to low on some of the old stuff. Gallery zip files don't seem to be regularly available even on the recently added Wasteland exclusive galleries. I did see some with zips but I would have expected that to be part of the options on every gallery here. Some movies in other sections than the exclusives have varying formats or even streaming-only viewing.

Navigation & Organization Could Be Enhanced, No Model Index Availa

The member's area main page has straightforward text links to the different content sections. What they don't have are tools like niche breakdown and filtering or a model index. With so much material to sift through some enhanced browsing tools would be a welcome addition here. As it stands the navigation isn't difficult or frustrating but at the same time there are additions that could be made to make things better.

Minor Negatives:

Some fetish/bdsm fans with specific interests may find this collection to be hit-and-miss since there is so much content off all types in Wastland's collection.
The HD level movies have specs that would barely put them as high-definition.
The monthly rate here is higher than typical for a paysite and there are some upsells in the member's area.

Wasteland was established in 1995 and along the way it has won several industry awards for being a top fetish or alternative site.

Bottom Line

Wasteland has a long history & it's a solid destination for BDSM/Fetish fans.

There aren't many site with as long of a track record as Wasteland. The site is a reliable place to find a large collection of BDSM and fetish content with lots of exclusive content. The additional articles and community features are more prominent here than on other paysite so it really is a well rounded site that goes beyond just pictures and videos. The price is a bit higher than most other sites however they've always had it set like that so it must work fine for them.
