Intro

Digital Playground is a studio site with a collection of this company's DVDs/videos along with photo galleries. Unlike many movie download sites that have a compilation of title from various studios Digital Playground has just their material and therefore the number of titles is in the hundreds rather than thousands. As you would expect from a production house like this the movies are professionally produced with pro pornstar models in a collection that's best suited for a general hardcore audience.

The Pros

Large Collection of Digital Playground Studio Movies & Galleries.

The content centerpiece is the movie collection that they have broken down into sections of full-length movies and scenes. This is a general hardcore collection from this studio that hits on all the popular niches of guy/girl, girl/girl, and groupsex. A separate section of photo galleries has similar professional style galleries of hardcore and solo girl content. I particularly like that they have a sizable amount of behind-the-scenes videos which surfers are likely to enjoy as a change of pace.

Professional Looking Design, DVD, Niche, Model Index Browsing.

Since this is a site from a single production studio the design should have a sharp appearance. For the most part it does and the videos section has niche breakdown plus there is a model index with a page of the most popular models along with a full alphabetical index.

Flash Streaming Buffers Quickly & Allows Immediate Jumping Ahead.

The single video format for the main movies section is in-browser Flash streaming. With that in mind the functionality is important to the site. The files load and play almost instantly, play smoothly, and allow for immediate jumping to any part of the scene.

Other Good Stuff:

A section of downloadable DVDs (about 100) is available with full-DVD files in MP4 format which can be saved to your computer. The download speed is quite fast.
An update log on the member's home page highlights recent additions.
These guys have set up a special discount price for TBP users which makes the cost lower than their standard rate.

The Cons

Most Movies are Streaming Only, Separate Downloadable Section.

For most surfers it would clearly be a negative that they have gone with Flash streaming as their main movie formatting. The downloadable MP4 movies are housed in a section that's linked to at the bottom of the member's main page next to the behind-the-scenes stuff. Clearly their main focus is to have members use the streaming videos.

Video Quality is Only Average, Not High Definition Level.

This is most notable because on the guest tour they have a 'full high-definition movies' tagline. The specs on these is not HD level but only average for a paysite. Higher res movies would have helped raise the value of the streaming only movies but that's not available here.

Minor Negatives:

The downloadable movies section doesn't seem to get updated very often at all.
The picture galleries don't have any image size/quality choices or zip files.
Model index navigation is underdeveloped. Not enough girls on one page and no sort/filter tools.
Some videos have background music which some surfers may not enjoy.
There are some ads and upsells in the member's area.

Bottom Line

Lots of videos & galleries from the Digital Playground studio with mostly streaming videos.

Overall Digital Playground has the type of design and amount of content I like to see from a dedicated studio site. The main sticking point I have is that they have gone with streaming only videos for the bulk of the content.
