(25 minutes)Yappo.com is a pay per view video site offering "Adult Movies on Your Terms." They've got a huge collection of titles from every major star and studio out there. Their entire collection is browsable before you sign up, so it's easy to take a quick look and see if Yappo has what you're looking for, and they probably do. The one major considering, however, is that all of the content is pay per view which certainly has its positive and negative points.
Huge collection.
We've seen some big ppv sites, but Yappo puts many of them to shame. They currently have over 50,000 movies available, a simply massive collection. Every major category is here filled with movies from over 750 studios. Hundreds (maybe over thousand, I sure didn't count) of performers are listed covering just about every interest you might have. You should be able to find whatever you're looking for on Yappo.
Good-quality scenes.
Most of the movies are offered in five quality settings, going up to 2000k and up to 800x600 in size. They vary somewhat, but overall this is a good-quality DVD collection.
Easy to navigate.
Getting around this large collection is no problem. They've got a very clean and professional design with a smart layout. Tools like their Advanced Search also really help. Search by niche, studio, length, or star. You can also do a keyword search through titles, directors, and descriptions. All DVDs have the necessary info and it's all cross-linked, so if you like Eva Angelina in All Holes No Poles 2, it's easy to jump to the other movies she appears in.
Good viewing options. Each scene can be played in short clips or in its entirety in five quality settings. Members have a choice of streaming in Flash, Windows Media, and Silverlight.
Daily updates. Multiple DVDs are added to the site daily. In the last week, 18 full-length DVDs have been added so there's always something new to check out.
The benefit of a pay-per-view site is that you only pay for what you want to see. If you've got a specific fetish or actor you're looking for, you could end up paying less because you want less content. Or maybe you just want to jump to the money shot and enjoy 45 seconds of video from 100 movies. In those cases, the ppv set-up will work in your favor.
Non-exclusive content.
None of the videos here are exclusive. That should go without saying, and after all, finding your favorite stars or studios may be part of the draw here. However, it is worth mentioning that you won't find anything original on Yappo.
Expensive PPV set-up.
As with all pay per view sites, costs can add up quick. Their basic price starts at $4.83 for 25 minutes, or 19 cents a minute (though if you buy in bulk you can get it down to 8 or 10 cents a minute), which is an average price for a ppv site. It just gets expensive fast. At best, you're spending $10 to watch one entire DVD. There are plenty of DVD archive sites offering hundreds of DVDs for not much more than that a month. PPV systems are good if you're looking for specific titles but not so much for general viewing.
Can't "keep" the videos.
All of the videos here stream in your browser. Though they do mention a downloadable rental option, at best you get the movie on your computer for 30 days. After that, your access is off. This isn't a site to come to with your download manager to build your own personal library o'porn.
Not true high definition. Though the scenes are labeled "HD", they don't quite meet HD standards. These scenes are just 800x600 in size at most, quite a bit smaller than the 1280x720 of HD.
Some movies cost extra. Watch out for movies labeled "Premium", these consume minutes at 3 times the normal rate.
Where IS the download rental option? I searched and searched through the site and couldn't find a link to actual download/rent a movie. I'd love to be pointed in the right direction.
A huge PPV DVD collection that's great if you can swing the cost.
As far as pay per view video sites go, Yappo offers a nicely put together, huge collection of just about any porn title you can think of. The drawbacks are much the same as you'd find on any ppv site, that it can be expensive, it's non-exclusive and that you can't keep the movies. Against other DVD archive sites, those can really hurt. However, compared to other on demand sites, Yappo's massive library, frequent updates, and navigation tools really stand out and make Yappo well worth a look.
