(recurring)Julien's Boys is up for review today, and the generic title doesn't give you a ton of info about the site, except that it's a gay site of course. It's actually a video-only site that focuses on younger (18 ) Canadian males, both in softcore and hardcore scenes. I think they shoot all their own material, so it should be exclusive. Membership is a little higher than I was hoping for at $30 a month.
Exclusive gay content.
The best thing going here is the content itself. I'd guess they shoot all the material themselves, which keeps it in-house and exclusive. The scenes are all pretty similar, so if you like one, you should like most of them.
Good mix of softcore and hardcore.
I'm struggling to find things that stand out here, but they do offer a nice mix of solo and hardcore scenes. Hopefully you enjoy both so you can get the most of the site.
Can't download videos.
Thankfully they are streaming, with a pretty nice streaming player, but they just don't offer any downloads here. If you're into that part of a site, buyer beware I guess.
Updates are pretty slow.
They added two new videos about three weeks ago, but before that, there was like a two month delay. This past summer the updates were going pretty well, but they're just too slow these days for my liking.
Small site.
There are only about 50 videos up currently, which isn't very large for a site. At least they have an okay collection, but I don't see it growing much with these slow updates either.
Even the highest quality option isn't the best I've seen out there in terms of streaming videos. Quality could be a little better still.
For some reason, the link to start up the 2048k videos doesn't work (in Firefox at least). You can manually type it in up in the address bar, but what a pain.
They offer some great scene info, but not much model info or bios unfortunately.
There are no photos here, period. So if that's your thing, I guess you have to look elsewhere as well.
Some okay scenes, but I don't quite think it's worth it.
There are just a few too many issues here that would hold me back from joining. While the models and content can look good, I think that's about where the fun ends. For $30, I expect things to be really good, so expectations were high going in here. There's just not enough content, not enough updates, the videos don't look good enough, and you can't even download them. All those site specifics just add up to some major problems for a lot of people. If a few of them could be fixed, they'd be in a better position; but as it is right now, I just couldn't stick around very long here.
