(30 minutes)Doggone Video is a DVD archive site with straight and gay movies in a variety of niches available for streaming in a pay-per-view set-up. The overall look of the site is fairly simple, but it does give you the opportunity to check out their complete archive of nearly 10,000 DVDs before paying a dime.
This is a large site with a definite emphasis on gay content. There are currently around 1,800 straight and 8,000 gay DVDs offered. That's an impressive collection! Keep in mind also there's also a solid number of bi scenes here, as well. It's an intriguing collection that appeals to preferences across the spectrum.
For navigating the site you're given a chronological listing of DVDs, category lists, and drop down lists of models and studios.
Video viewing costs 8-23 cents per minute depending on how many minutes you buy up front. If you think you're going to enjoy a movie, you can do a 24 hour for around $6. Those prices are comparable to watch other pay-per-view DVD sites charge, but they're still much higher than you'll pay on other movie sites with a standard monthly membership.
These scenes look several years old, both in scene styling and actual content quality. They could be so much sharper. It's tough to want to call these movies even DVD quality at this point.
These are all non-exclusive movies. That should go without saying on a DVD archive site like this, just keep in mind that nothing here is original.
They haven't added new content in several months and over the last year the number of DVDs has actually decreased, so don't come in expecting much new content.
The design here is really basic. It's a simple look that is less than exciting.
Doggone Video has its work cut out for itself. I will say there is great amount of content here, so that is something. Still, we're talking about non-exclusive material so to stand out from other sites with the same material, we need something like high quality videos or great user features or low prices. None of those can be found here. While there is an impressive number of scenes here, ultimately the quantity can't trump the necessity of upgrades in most other areas of the site.
