The high-def refers to WMV and MP4 scene downloads that they offer at 1280x720 level. At this point the site has been around for a number of years and the number of videos scenes tops nine hundred with over three hundred models. Those quantity numbers are respectable for a niche site like this although the update activity seems to have stopped and the site is now more of an as-is archive.
The videos section is the centerpiece of the member's area and it's a nice sized collection with over nine hundred scenes. Additionally there are more than six hundred galleries in the mix. With amateur as the overriding theme the content is a blend of action ranging from girl/guy BJs and banging to solo toy play, anal, lesbian, etc. It's a mix of U.S. and European porn and the content does have an amateur and pro-am feel to it.
High-def is right in the site title so that's something that plays a key role here. Videos are consistent with both WMV and MP4 full-scene downloadable files at 1280x720 specs. The bit-rates are 2800-3000k. Mobile files plus in-browser Flash streaming are also offered.
Browse tools include a model index and niche tags along with a keyword search and favorites folder.
There are some exclusive videos in the mix that are marked with an 'Exclusive' icon. Event the other videos didn't seem familiar to me so it's not the common content that's found everywhere.
Content has recent dates in it however our TBP staff have noted that the totals always hover about the same amount despite the fresh dates. Essentially this seems like it has become an archive type site now with an as-is collection. Video lengths and the content itself vary quite a lot with some scenes that are short at around 2-5 minutes and others that are fully developed at more standard 15-30 minutes long. Much of the content is only semi-exclusive as it's a small number of scenes that are tagged as site exclusives.
With high-def being a core part of the site's theme it would be nice if the specs had been raised over the years. Instead they've stuck with 1280x720 with mid-range bit-rates so the high-def is good but not great. Unlike the downloads the Flash player isn't high-def.
When you open a video page the Flash streaming always starts playing. This can get a little annoying if you're just interested in the download links. Also I was unable to get the picture gallery zips to save.
The monthly price here is a bit more expensive than a lot of other paysites.
Amateur Hi Def has a wide-ranging mix of content with hardcore, solo, anal and more plus they have a blend of American and European porn. The high-def theme is delivered on with a couple formats of 1280x720 downloads although there's room for this to be enhanced to better specs since they haven't upgraded that over the site's lifespan which has been about five years. Even though the updates have fallen off there is still a decent archive in place so the lack of growth isn't the worst thing here.
