House of Gord is up for review today, and though we've looked at the site before, I had forgotten just how interesting of a bondage/BDSM site this was. Most all of the videos feature a man and a woman, I presume Gord and either an assistant or wife, who have a ton of fun with the models involved doing all sorts of crazy gizmos and contraptions. I would assume Gord makes these himself, and they are truly unique and awesome all at the same time. There are four pages worth of "machines" in their repertoire, and many of them are just works in progress waiting to be perfected. There's quite a bit of content here, dating back many, many years. Surprisingly, there isn't a huge list of models, as they work with many repeat customers if you will. The girls seem to enjoy themselves, and that in turn would bring them back. $32 a month gets you in the door, which is definitely a bit high, but it may be worth your while with how unique House of Gord is.
The Pros
Incredibly unique bondage content.
To just say that they offer bondage content would be a bit of an injustice here. They go above and beyond the call of duty and offer 100% unique and exclusive machines and scenes here. Gord has a real passion for this stuff (as does his hot helper), but his passion is equaled in the contraptions that he thinks up and builds for the scenes. The girls coming in for a shoot get put in their place, as they should, but also get subjected to some very sexy acts designed to give them a great mix of pleasure and unease.
Lots to see here!
The site has been going strong for quite a well, and I saw sets dating back to 2001 or so, which is forever in internet terms. They've amassed almost 500 scenes currently, both photo and video included, which is great for such a unique niche site like this.
Updates come pretty regularly.
On average, I guess a new scene is put up weekly (or maybe a little more), though it's tough to pinpoint exactly. Sometimes photos are added one week, and videos are added a couple weeks later. One of the recent updates look like it was a remastering of videos from a shoot several years ago. Either way, things are updated and added here pretty regularly, which is good.
Other Good Stuff:
The content here is all exclusive of course, as evidenced by the machines, and by Gord's (and helper's) smiling face in most videos.
They do offer model bios here which gives you a little insight into the girl, which is nice.
They offer the ability to browse by machine, by sex act (orgasm, anal, etc.), by model, by machine, and more. Though it's not pretty, they try to offer as many options as possible for navigation.
The Cons
Quality could use a boost.
Overall, the quality is a definite step below what we're used to seeing these days. Concentrating on just the newer videos, there's some graininess and some artifacts seen that should be cleaned up at this point.
Layout and design need some work.
I wouldn't call the navigation bad as they offer quite a few different ways to browse the site. Instead, I don't like the design and layout much here. The site doesn't look good, and instead looks rather amateurish. The large preview sections look cluttered with too much text of different colors and sizes, and not enough separation. It just doesn't feel comfortable here.
Minor Negatives:
The images are a bit small overall, coming in currently at around 1000x667 or so. Larger images would be better for this stuff.
There are no descriptions, or bios if you will, of the machines themselves. I guess they change enough that they're not always the same, but I'd love to read the inspiration and ideas behind each one.
Of course, with content going back so far, the quality only gets worse as you get into the older scenes.
For some reason, they don't offer any streaming or Flash videos, which may annoy some.
The layouts while browsing the photo galleries could be better. They start off by trying to interweave the story into the thumbs, but then break up the gallery into too many pages. It could be streamlined I think with more thumbs per page, and the description all in one area.
Bottom Line
Truly unique BDSM content with lots of ingenuity and passion behind the content.
The site itself is amateurish, Gord doesn't look all that interesting, and the quality is a bit below average for what we see these days. But none of those are the reasons you should or shouldn't check out House of Gord. Simply put, the bondage, the machines, the ingenuity, and the content scenes are a definite treat here, and that's the reason to join. I've never seen such a homemade, grassroots bondage site do as well as Gord has at making interesting machines and content. Plus, there's a lot to see, they update regularly, and none of that seems to be slowing down anytime soon. Take a look around the tour, and you'll get a great idea of what's inside (both good and bad), and I say that it's well worth your while to get a membership if this stuff looks even slightly interesting.
