Intro

Genesis Magazine is up for review today, and of course it's part of the Swank Pass network of sites, which include all of their official magazine sites. The theme here seems to be simply pornstars, generally fucking of course, and the content is all exclusive. There are some semi-big names here, but it all boils down to a pretty standard collection of porn scenes in the end. There's a pretty good amount of content at least, and the network access definitely helps bring you even more content on top of that. $30 gets you in the door, which is about right I'd guess, even though it's a little on the high side.

The Pros

Lots of content up.

As with most magazine sites, there's a lot of content here. They have a collection going back several years and now offer over 650 photo galleries, and almost 350 videos. Add in the network access, and I don't think you'll get through all the content too quickly at least.

In addition to several hundred galleries of their own, you get access to all the other sites in their network as well of course. They may be different themes, but the content is similar still overall, and it really helps the bang for buck thing.

Other Good Stuff:

Of course, they shoot all their own content here and everything is all exclusive.
Between the articles, stories, celeb content, bonus material, blog, and magazine issues they have, there are really quite a few extras to check out. They should keep you busy for a while, as long as you're not here just for the photo and video content.
Though they're only weekly, the updates are consistent at least and come very regularly.
They offer three different photo sizes, plus a zip file option for the photo galleries.
Both WMV and Flash are offered in the streaming section, which is cool to see.

The Cons

Navigation/design could be better.

The whole setup of the site isn't my favorite unfortunately. They use a script to run everything, and it makes the site feel pretty generic, and it doesn't offer much personality. There's no models index, just a dropdown menu of text names. The category search feature works decent, but the results display is pretty plain. Things would just be better overall if they had their own design and navigation options in place I think.

I'm surprised there aren't more updates.

They do add a new photo gallery and video every week, but I'm honestly surprised there isn't more new content added here. You'd think they shoot quite a bit of material, and I was hoping for at least a few updates each week, if not more.

Quality isn't that good, especially older stuff.

The quality here starts off just okay at best, even on the newer stuff. From there, as you get into the older content, it gets markedly worse of course. I don't mind the older stuff looking bad, as it was the norm at the time, but it still deserves mentioning. I would love to see better quality for the newer material these days at minimum.

Minor Negatives:

The warning that pops up before you download every video or zip file gets a bit old after a while.
There are a few too many ads around the member's area for my liking. I can look past one or two, but they have several on most pages.

Bottom Line

Okay content, okay site, but nothing that really wowed me.

Okay, I don't even know if wowed is really a weird, but it works for me. Genesis Magazine was very generic and average all around for me, and just never fully caught my attention unfortunately. The content can be fun, but overall is pretty standard. The quality needs work, the updates are average, and the site is lacking personality and some options that I'd look for. The network access is nice, as is the size of the collection, but that's not enough I guess. The back magazine issues were also cool to go through, but mostly, I just felt that they could do a little better in most areas. If you're a big fan of the magazine, then I have no issues recommending a join here, but for most people, I'd say it's more take it or leave it.
