Intro

HDK Raw is a collection of videos and photos from the gay studio HotDesertKnights. Here the 'raw' theme refers to bareback action as they have hardcore guy/guy and groupsex along with a smaller amount of solo guy scenes. The site is part of the HDK Central network which features a handful of sites from this studio with different niche themes. Membership includes the whole group of sites.

The Pros

Bareback Videos/Photos from Hot Desert Knights Studio.

Content is studio stuff from the HDK production company and the main focus is on guy/guy hardcore bareback banging. They also mix in groupsex and sometimes have solo guy softcore or jerking off too along with fetishes like toys/objects or leather. In terms of the videos most scenes seem like they're from their DVD titles but they also have live cam shoots and the tour does reference that some content is exclusive to the site.

Nice Sized Site, Plenty of Both Videos & Photo Galleries.

AT the time of this review HDK raw has been online for more than four years and they have a solid amount of content tin place. There are over six hundred video scenes and more than a thousand photo galleries. While there are network bonus sites included HDK Raw actually does just fine on its own in terms of quantity.

Solid Content Download/Viewing Options, HD Newer Vids.

Newest videos have HD 1280x720 MP4 files so that's a nice addition to see. Throughout the collection the options that are always available include WMV and ipod MP4 portable files along with in-browser Flash streaming. The photos include both online images and zips for saving the full galleries.

Other Good Stuff:

Update details are posted on all the content items. They add new photos a couple times per week and one new video per week.
Network access to the handful of HDK Central network sites is included with membership. All the sites are from the HotDesertKnights Studio.

The Cons

Content Quality Varies, Some Newer Scenes Broken in Parts.

Just the newest videos have the MP4 HD available. The majority of the videos are in standard def only and the quality does dip down to more like 1500k 640x480. On the newer updates they've begun chopping the scenes into parts so there aren't the full-scene downloadable files in place. You have to save a couple different videos to get the full shoot. In the photos most are around 1170x785 although while browsing the galleries I found some that were slightly higher and some smaller pics back in the archives.

No Model Index w/ Photos or Content Niche Categories.

Navigation is rather basic with video and photos sections and then a search tool that isn't as robust as it could be. There is no model index, just a text list of the guys which isn't as helpful as it could be since there are no preview photos. On individual scene pages the model names or film titles aren't hyperlinked which would have been useful in finding related or similar content.

Minor Negatives:

They don't mark or tag the content that might be exclusive to the site. No tags are put on the high-def scenes either.
There is some solo guy content mixed in to the collection which kind of goes against the grain of the 'raw bareback' site theme.
The trial membership is limited access and there are some cross-sells on the join page.

The other

Included network bonus sites can be accessed directly from the HDK Raw member's area without having to re-enter any user/pwd info.

Bottom Line

A nice sized collection of HDK hardcore with an emphasis on bareback sex.

HDK Raw has a sizable archive of both video scenes and photos from this studio. They do deliver mostly on bareback sex although a little bit of the content strays into solo guy action. Since it's part of the company's HDK Central network is best to check that out since that's the full package available to members.
