Intro

Dirk Yates has been in the gay porn biz for a couple of decades and he is noted for his military themed movies. This official site of the producer has a collection of streaming DVDs, video scenes, and webcam show videos with a mix of solo guy, guy/guy, groups, and even some bi and straight action.

The Pros

Dirk Yates Solo/Hardcore Military Theme Gay Video Content.

The niche that made Dirk Yates famous is the military theme so this collection carries that on through with a mix of his movies and webcam show scenes that's dominated by military type guys. The action includes a mix of solo guy jerking off, hardcore guy/guy, and groupsex. There are even sections for bisexual and straight so a small number of women can be seen in action too.

Good Sized Collection, DVD, Video & Show Collection.

There are three content sections in the member's area: Titles, Shows, and Scenes. The titles are full DVDs then the shows and scenes are individual scenes of webcam and video scenes respectively. There are hundreds of total videos and personally I like that as a movie producer he has focused 100% on video content and not bothered with photos.

Other Good Stuff:

Flash streaming loads within a few seconds and allows for immediate jumping ahead.
There is an 'About' section on the guest tour that gives background info for Dirk and his history in the business.

The Cons

No Video Downloads, Average Quality Flash Streaming Only.

Nowadays whenever a site restricts videos to in-browser streaming only without downloads it's s key issue that users take notice of. Dirk only has videos in Flash streaming and no other options. Furthermore the quality tops out at about 640x480 1500k which isn't all that impressive.

Update Info is Lacking, No Log or Dates on the Content.

While there is a good sized archive in place they don't provide information about when things are updating. Content scenes themselves aren't date-stamped either with only some of the movies having 'release date' info which seem to be date the movie was produced/released on DVD. It's impossible to know what kind of attention the site is getting from the owners/webmasters.

Minor Negatives:

The majority of guys on the model index don't have any preview thumbnail photo. Also, there isn't any background or biographical info provided for the guys.
The 'Shows' section contains webcam show type scenes but there isn't any info on whether they still do new shows, when they were shot, or if they have any shows upcoming.

Bottom Line

A sizable archive of Dirk Yates military themed videos but the videos are streaming only.

Dirk Yates has a couple of key items that stand out. On the positive side of the ledger the content is a large archive of Dirk's own military themed gay movies so the entertainment value is really high. On the negative side the streaming-only formatting definitely will turn off a lot of users. The quality could also be improved. So overall while it's excellent content the lack of downloads really hurts.
