Intro

This site is home to Lavender Lounge Studios which is a gay hardcore production company from producer/owner Mark Kliem. He describes the men featured as "burly bears, punks, and hunks." What you'll find here is a small collection of videos and photos produced by the Lavender studio and featuring lots of hardcore guy/guy along with solo and then kinkier stuff like fisting and fetish action. Four additional gay bonus sites are also included with membership.

The Pros

Lavender Lounge Studio Gay Hardcore/Solo/Fisting Action.

This is a dedicated studio collection with lots of hardcore guy/guy including some fisting and kinky fetish play as well. There are some solo guy posing and masturbation shoots which add further variety. Kliem does describe the guys featured here as burly bears, punks, and hunks and I think that's an accurate assessment of the men he features. The collection includes about an equal amount of video scenes and photo sets.

WMV/MP4 Downloads, Some HD Flash; Photo Gallery Zips.

Download and viewing options are solid with videos available in full-scene WMV, MP4, and iPhone/iPad files. The in-browser Flash has HD specs on newer updates and all the scenes include multiple quality choices on the Flash with the ability to jump ahead immediately to any part while playing. Photos include both online images and zip files.

Other Good Stuff:

Producer/owner Mark Kliem has a blog on the site and there is also a section dedicated to some bonus footage for some of the scenes.
Good information is provided on the shoots inlcuding written summaries of the action, some model info, video spec/sizes, etc.
Several bonus sites are included with membership which gives members access to quite a bit more hardcore gay content.

The Cons

Small Collection of Content, Archive Doesn't Go Back Very Far.

TBP has had Lavender Lounge in our directory for a number of years however the site may have undergone a restructuring because at the time of this review content items date back only to late 2011. It's a small collection and it'll be interesting to check back in down the road to see if they're building that up, rotating the content, or what. Kliem himself mentions he's been in the biz since 1996 and it's not made clear if when he established or took over Lavender.

HD Videos are Flash Only, Downloads are Standard-Res.

One thing they clearly do here is stamp the scenes with HD quality however that quality level is kept to just the Flash streaming and they downloads are kept to the SD levels. They also have multiple options for quality on the Flash while the download formats are kept to one level per format. My preference would be to have the high-def on the downloads and more options there rather than all the features housed on the streaming.

Minor Negatives:

When trying to filter the videos page using their drop-down niche category box I got a 404 page error. Also, the model index has the text list in alphabetical order but the photo index isn't in the same order.
There is a pre-checked cross-sell on the join page.

The other

The included bonus sites are linked to from Lavender's member's area. You do need to re-enter your user/pwd when visiting each for the first time.

Bottom Line

Hardcore & solo Lavender Lounge studio content although it's a pretty small collection.

To me there are really two things that define what Lavender Lounge has to offer. On the positive side of things it's a quality collection of one studio's content and the owner Mark Kliem seems to be really involved with his blog and the site. The negative item has to be the quantity as there just isn't a very large amount of stuff available yet. This is something we'll have to look in on later on to see how the growth has progressed.
