Intro

Sugar VOD is a pay-per-minute DVD streaming site that also has streaming rentals and download-to-own pricing options. It%u2019s a big archive of thousands of full length DVD movies from a bunch of different studios. The guest tour is really an open book layout in that visitors can browse the site exactly as members see it so it's easy enough to check things out and see if they have the studios, titles, or stars that are of interest to you.

The Pros

Huge Archive of Hardcore DVDs from a Ton of Different Studios.

As with most VOD DVD sites Sugar VOD brings to the table a huge archive of full-length movies as its biggest asset. They have hardcore action of all types from newer releases to movies from years back. The studio list includes big companies along with smaller studios and as you can tell from the niche categories they have all the popular categories covered along with micro-niches as well.

Straightfrorward PPM Pricing w/ Rental & Buy Options Too.

With the pay-per-minute pricing structure it's good to have things be clear and straightforward. Right from the get-go you can see the packages available on the left margin of the site. Amounts for streaming rentals and download to own are also shown for each title. Your account page also highlights the amount of viewing time you have left.

Other Good Stuff:

Update date-added info is clearly stated on each DVD. They also publish the produciton/release year for the titles.
The WMV streaming loads quickly and allows for immediate jumping around to any part of the movie.
Browse options include Niche categories, studio, and popular performers. There is also a keyword serach and an advanced search/filter tool.

The Cons

Some 'Premium' Titles, No Time Ticker When Watching Videos.

There are some premium titles where the cost is 2 minutes for every 1 minute of viewing so not all movies are the same rate. Also, when streaming the videos three isn't any kind of an account ticker so you know how many minutes you've used and have left.

Average Video Quality, No Scene Breakdown in Streaming.

The WMV streaming only has average specs and isn't all that impressive in terms of quality. Even though you can jump around immediately there isn't any breakdown for the scenes so it's one long DVD and you have to use trial and error to find the end of a scene and the start of another one.

Minor Negatives:

Some scenes don't have any preview photos for the movies. For these all you have to go on is the box cover so it's tough to know what the movie is like without starting to play and use your minutes.
The Popular Performers model index includes only some stars and is text-only. There isn't a fully developed pornstar index with preview photos.
The home page's Newly Added titles include movies that aren't newly added at all but are from the past. Not sure what's going on with that.

Members can rete the movies on a 5-star scale.

Bottom Line

Sugar VOD is a straightforward pay-per-minute DVD site with a big archive of content.

Sugar VOD is one of those sites where guests can know exactly what they're going to get before signing up. The pay-per-minute packages are clearly noted and the tour allows you to check out the full database just as members see it. The site does pretty well in terms of video streaming and design functionality but doesn%u2019t have any super feature that truly stands out. Overall it's a functional and sizable destination for surfers who like DVD movies in a VOD pricing format.
