Intro

Gay Videos Plus is a large archive of downloadable gay scenes. They've got over a thousand movies, some exclusive, some not, featuring all types of gay men in all types of gay action. I got the impression that this was either a DVD site or a mega-site with tons of feeds and bonus content, and while the site was certainly large, overall it's essentially a standard video site.

The Pros

Some exclusive niche content.

It's hard to say exactly how much here is exclusive, but some of it is. Everything that is exclusive is labeled so you'll know you won't find it anywhere else. They've got a wide variety of men and activities in this collection. You'll see young blondes, hunky studs, and thin Asian boys. Some of the models are uniquely theirs but other can be found elsewhere.

Large collection.

There are currently 657 galleries and 1,157 videos in the collection. That's really impressive, especially considering that some of it is exclusive. There's plenty to enjoy on this large site.

Frequent updates.

A new gallery or video is added to the site several times a week. Updates and upcoming updates are posted on the member's homepage and there's also a calendar so you can see exactly what is coming up and when.

Other Good Stuff:

There's a favorites folder where you can save all the best scenes.
Members get access to several bonus sites, video and photo feeds, and stories. There's a lot of extra material to keep you busy here.
Plenty of scene info is provided. You get a description, the date it was added, and for the videos, file sizes and running length.
Easy to view Top Rated Updates and Most Viewed Photos and Videos.

The Cons

Content quality needs work.

I was really disappointed with the quality of the photos and videos. The images aren't sharp as all; some are actually vidcaps! There are frequent lighting issues, as well. I also didn't like how they include photos of guys with their eyes half shut, or looking away, or in an awkward pose. Basically you can tell these guys weren't ready for the picture to be taken so these pictures shouldn't be included. The videos looked a bit better, at 1600k, but they're still really pixilated.

Not enough browse tools.

The pictures and videos have a couple good sort tools, but that's not enough. There's no model index and the category list is somewhat limited. The keyword search helps, although there were some terms that I was surprised didn't come up and others came up with with results that didn't fit the niche and were obviously from their other sites. It's a fine basic set-up, but even more tools are needed.

Minor Negatives:

Not enough video viewing options. Clips are only offered in Flash, full-length downloads are only wmvs and mp4s. It would be great to see all those options and more offered for both.
No zip downloads for photos.
Mostly non-exclusive content. Most of the scenes and models here can be found on other sites.

Bottom Line

A large collection with varied content, but just so-so overall.

Gay Videos Plus is a decent site with a large video collection, but about all I can say I was really impressed with was the size. Quality wasn't great, the site is just OK in terms of user-friendliness, and the $30 a month pricetag is high for a site with mostly non-exclusive content. There's certainly a lot to see here and the variety is very good. If that's what you're looking for in a site, give it a shot. Otherwise, I think there are better options.
