Intro

Playboy.tv is a pretty unique paysite in that the site is a compilation of show episodes from this company's TV channel. What you'll find here are streaming-video episodes from a few dozen different shows like Night Calls, The Stash, Celebrity Sex Tales, Playboy Radio Show, etc. Essentially it's an archive of this company's TV content on the internet.

The Pros

Unique Content, Archive of Playboy TV Show Episodes.

A lot of other Playboy paysites have more standard photo or video content but Playboy TV stands out because of the specialty content that's featured. The totality of the content are the show archives including some of the ones listed above in my intro. Others include Swing, Badass, Quickies, School of Sex, and more. There are videos that are more like model specials such as Playboy's Coeds, No Boy Allowed, and Playboy Girls Of... so the content does cover a wide spectrum of action from full developed shows to Playboy video type content.

Flash Streaming Buffers Quickly, Allows for Jumping Ahead.

With the videos being offered solely in the Flash format it's important that the movies play easily and efficiently. The Flash player is medium sized and consistent throughout and it loads within a few seconds. It is possible to jump ahead right away so the player is pretty user-friendly.

Other Good Stuff:

Good show details provided including info like season/episode, date added to site, stars/summary, and runtime.
Navigation is straightforward with sections dedicated to each of the individual shows.

The Cons

Streaming-Only Videos, Can't Download the Movies.

This is something that will jump out at users right away. With more and more sites going to high-def downloads and increasing the format options it's a big negative whenever a site restricts things to in-browser streaming only. I suppose it's not all that surprising since this is unique Playboy TV material but it is something you'll want to be aware of.

Number of Episodes Varies per Show, Some Skipped Episodes.

The number of episodes on any given show does vary and based on the season/episode number it appears they do not include all the shows. There are other small sections that don't get updated often. For instance Sexiest Amateur Home Videos' intro says "Playboy gets hundreds of amateur video every year" however there are only two videos available in that section here. While there are hundreds of videos overall things can be a bit hit-and-miss depending on what show or series you're looking at.

Minor Negatives:

There are quite a number of member's area upsell ads for other Playboy sites as well as other paysites.

Bottom Line

An interesting compilation of shows & specials from Playboy TV in streaming-only videos.

Really two things stand out here that define the site. The unique nature of the content and the fact that the videos are not downloadable. They're doing a good job in terms of the number of videos with hundreds total and they have the popular shows included. The streaming only setup is likely to frustrate some users since downloads are expected nowadays.
