Intro

Self Shot Boys features photos and videos of young men who actually shoot themselves. With a tripod, a webcam, or even the old camera held at arm's length trick, these boys don't need a photographer to record their naughty exhibitionist fantasies. These are the uncensored pics that you can't post on Facebook. Instead, the boys submit their photos here for the world to enjoy.

The Pros

Hot young guys with a unique theme.

The models all look like your typical college dudes, only here you get to see every last inch of them. Some are nude solo, some are actually fooling around with a boyfriend. I've seen the self-shot theme on other sites, but they usually feature female models. I enjoyed watching the action on this gay male themed site.

Lots of video viewing options.

I was impressed with how many choices members have for watching these videos. Each scene can be streamed in your browser using Flash. They can also be downloaded as mp4s, movs, and wmvs, each with three quality settings. They've got all their bases covered!

Other Good Stuff:

Photos can be downloaded in zip files in three images sizes and viewed in a slideshow.
Getting around the site is easy enough. You can browse the photos and videos in the order they were added, by name, and by popularity. There's also a model index. The Advanced Search is a great tool that lets you further narrow down the scenes or models by type of action and by physical features.

The Cons

Very small collection.

Self Shot Boys is a small site, with just 10 models appearing in 19 galleries and 10 videos. The galleries are typically small, with some having just 9 photos, and the videos are usually around 10 minutes long. It won't take long to see everything here.

Doesn't appear to be growing.

Although the update dates are current, the site isn't growing as fast as one would expect. Their content collection only goes back one month, despite having actually been online for three months. Are they already recycling their content? I'm not sure, but something seems to be going on.

Lots of empty tour promises.

There are some major exaggerations on the tour. Thousands of photos? Content submitted every day? Over 100GBs of content? Where's the promised internal forum and 200 live webcam guys? The bottom line is that there are 869 photos, questionable updates, and not much else. These kind of inaccuracies really irritate me.

Minor Negatives:

Content quality was average. Honestly, for the genre, it really wasn't bad. However, visitors shouldn't forget that these are very much homemade scenes and quality reflects that.

Bottom Line

The few scenes they have are entertaining, but there's just not enough here.

Self Shot Boys was a very mixed bag for me. On the one hand, I enjoyed the theme and the young men and the site is quite user-friendly. On the other, the site is small and doesn't really seem to be growing. I also take issue with all of the false claims on the tour. For $30 a month, I expect more than 29 user-submitted scenes. The site is one to watch, but for now I'd hold off on joining until they've had time to straighten a few things out.
