Intro

Video Box Men is a DVD archive site featuring a huge collection of movies within the gay genre. Their sister-site, so to speak, Video Box has been rocking the DVD-archive thing for years and is indeed a pioneer in this type of collection. It's clear right off the bat that they've put their technology and knowledge of the genre gained from Video Box to good use on the gay version of their site.

The Pros

Large collection of gay DVDs.

Video Box Men is a large site, with 8,402 scenes from 1,816 DVDs currently online. Having such a large collection allows them to fill out all of their 60 categories of action nicely. Whether you enjoy fisting, big dicks, thugs, autofellatio, or just about any other gay niche, they've got it here for you.

Solid quality collection.

The videos here look very good. While it's not quite high definition, it is most certainly DVD resolution. Newer movies play at around 3000k and are 720 x 480 in size. While quality varies somewhat, overall I was pleased.

Many choices for download.

Members have plenty of options for how they want to watch their movies. There are three WMV options, along with an mp4 (H.264) and iPhone file. You can also create custom downloads, starting and stopping at the exact points in the scene that you choose.

Great streaming player!

Similar to the custom downloads, you can also create custom streams. Using the filmstrip, you choose where in the action you want your stream to begin and where you want it to end. With the instant buffering, there's no delay to enjoying your favorite parts of all the scenes.

Other Good Stuff:

The price is nice and low! Membership is just $15 a month, a great value for this much content!
Plenty of info is available about each scene. They list the stars, director, categories, studio, date added, scene lengths, individual file sizes, and exactly which stars in in the particular scenes, not just in the DVD
Getting around is easy, thanks to a clean design, and plenty of browse and search tools. Categories, stars, studios, and series are all listed, along with new and top rated movies. The other thing I loved was how they let users browse by both scene and DVD! It's amazing how few sites give users the choice, but it's a great option to have.
Video Box Men is updated daily with one new DVD.

The Cons

All non-exclusive content.

That's the nature of a DVD archive site like this. Nearly all of the content here can be found elsewhere. These are DVDs that you can find on other sites or by ordering the actual DVD yourself.

Minor Negatives:

Video Box Men doesn't yet offer any high definition content. That's isn't a major problem, it's just that they're usually among the first to offer users the best so I was expecting HD here.
Many of the older movies aren't as sharp as the newer scenes. They're also smaller, at 640 x 480. They've come quite a ways since 2005.
I would love to see headshots on their model index.

Bottom Line

This large collection and user-friendly site is also a great value!

Once again, Video Box Men nails it. They've got it all, a large collection, daily updates, good quality content, a user-friendly site, and a great low price. The issues here are quite minor. If you're a fan of gay DVDs, you'll find Video Box Men to be an entertaining join and a great value.
