Intro

Figure Baby is up for review today, and the whole idea of the site is to offer nude photography of everyday women. Looking around a bit, I'd say photographer Tony Mancini has done a pretty good job of that. The site has an amateur quality to it, with good-looking girls, and simple photos that are fun, but wouldn't be found in a magazine or anything. There are only a few videos here, as he mostly does photos. But, you can join for the low price of just $9 a month, which is a great way to start your membership off.

The Pros

Lots of photo galleries up.

Thankfully, since this is mostly a photography site, they didn't skimp out and try to get away with just 30 sets up or something. There are over 450 photo sets up currently, which isn't bad. They can't compete with the big boys, but I don't think they're trying to.

Quality is good here.

Both the photos and videos look pretty nice. Surprisingly, the videos caught my eye the most, as they all come in high definition. About the only thing I'd change there is maybe a bit more lighting.

The photo quality has gotten better steadily through the archives. They are now a decent size, and generally well put together.

Good viewing options.

The options for viewing the content are pretty nice here. Photos here come in three sizes, and also include three accompanying zip file options. Videos are offered in WMV, Quicktime, and MP4 (mobile) formats, plus a streaming version.

Other Good Stuff:

$9 a month is all you'll pay to join this one, which is a great price. I think they did well here matching up their price to their offerings at this point.
With one photographer doing everything here, you can bet that the content is 100% exclusive.
Updates come in pretty regularly here. They put up three new photosets per week, which is definitely decent.

The Cons

Video collection pretty small, barely updating.

It's too bad, since I really like the videos they offer (despite the music playing in most of them that covers up any sounds the model may make). They just don't seem to be a priority at all with very few to see, and only one new video added in the last year. I'd love to see them put more focus on this section again, but I don't think that's a huge priority since they are mostly a photography site.

Navigation needs some work.

They have some okay options, and from what I understand, they've been working on the navigation recently. However, I'd still love to see more work done. They do have a decent model search setup, though I'd love to see this expanded with some other search categories, and possibly separated out onto some kind of advanced search page.

Also, while browsing the updates, I was trying to view just the videos. I selected "videos" in the dropdown menu called media, which worked. However, when you try to go to page two, it loses your selection, so you're back to photos videos unfortunately. This should be an easy bug to fix I'd assume.

Minor Negatives:

The model bios could be expanded a bit. They have some very basic stats, but nothing beyond that. I'd look for at least a paragraph or something on the girls, and maybe even something written by the girls themselves to infuse some personality here.

Bottom Line

A decent, but simple, site that could be some good fun for the right members.

Figure Baby is a pretty simple site, so I think it'll be a little hit and miss as to whether you'll get into it or not. As long as you go in with the right expectations, I don't see any reason you wouldn't have a good time here. Here's what they don't offer: high-end artsy photography (though it's getting closer to that direction lately), lots of videos, tons of options and features. However, if you're looking for some straightforward photo sets featuring everyday girls in the nude, they have quite a few of those. Updates come often, and the quality is decent; plus, the price is right. It won't be for everyone, but they offer a decent collection for what it is.
