Intro

Color Climax is an interesting site. I've been familiar with it for a number of years through our reviews and it really does have a unique style. This is a Denmark based studio that's been around for several decades so it's a well established brand with a history of magazine publication and film production. The two main niche categories that apply to their material are vintage porn and European performers. With their Danish and European foundation they offer up a collection of current day and vintage porn that is quite specialized.

The Pros

Unique Exclusive Content, Blend of Current & Vintage Pics/Vids.

Entertainment value is where Color Climax really shines. Those who especially are into the golden age of porn back the 70's or so will get a kick out of what's here. Based on what they have to work with they have a nice mix of current content along with stuff from past decades. I'm not even really a vintage porn enthusiast but I always enjoy checking out this collection.

Large Collection of Galleries, 100's of Movies, & Magazine Index.

My expectations for a studio like this are that they offer up picture galleries, movies, and magazine archives. Color Climax has each of these components in place. The photo galleries make up the biggest part of the member's area and they have hundreds of movies as well. There are issue photo galleries from over a dozen different magazine publications.

Full-Scene Videos with Downloads & Streaming.

The dedicated movies section in the member's area is called the 'Theater'. Under that umbrella there are sections for new releases, specials, and vintage videos. Full-length films are broken into scene parts each of which initially streams with a QT player and can then be downloaded. The quality and specs of the movies is solid although they do vary on some of the older archived vintage videos.

Sharp Professional Design, Steady Updates.

The appearance of the site both on the guest tour and member's area is professional and fits well with the content. A navigation header lays out the different content sections and it's pretty easy to understand. Updates come daily and they have a summary of recent additions on the member's home page.

Other Good Stuff:

Sub-categorized gallery and video sections plus thre is an alphabetized model index.
There are content specials like Signature Series galleries.
Length in minutes/seconds provided for full-length movies and scene parts.

The Cons

QuickTime is the Only Video Format Available.

This is worth pointing out since it is unusual as most paysites nowadays tend to have some form of WMV available. Color Climax has always had QuickTime as their single movie format and it appears they're going to stick with that for the future. The movies stream and download just fine but sticklers for movie formatting will definitely want to know that they have gone with this single format.

Tough to Navigate & Incomplete Magazine Archives.

There is actually a note at the top of this section that says not all the issues are online. Members are prompted to select the magazine and issue number with drop-down scroll boxes. This is not the most user-friendly way to have these items listed as there isn't month/year info and the actual content available is only galleries. The rest of the magazine info isn't there and many issues only have one gallery posted.

A Few "VIP" Content Features for Recurring Members Only.

This is something that's noted on the join page and it is not something that's found on many paysites. Basic monthly membership does get you access to the vast majority of content but things like gallery zip files, downloadable bestseller movies, and iPod format videos are held back for VIP members.

Minor Negatives:

Text-only model index without preview thumbnail pics of the models.
The downloadable movie files do not have any file size information posted.
No update details posted in the movies section.

Danish production company Color Climax has a specialized collection of current & vintage porn.

Color Climax is one of those sites that fans of vintage porn will want to take a look at. The vintage content here is a big part of things and it%u2019s even for those who aren't necessarily enthusiasts of vintage porn. Entertainment value and exclusivity are the key strengths of the site. Little things that might be issues to some surfers are the QT video formatting and the VIP restricted content features. Overall the good features of the site stand out more than the negatives which is why the site consistently earns a solid review score.
