Intro

BaDoink has itself a quirky title and in fact that's fitting the site since its concept is a bit different as well. It's a DVD/movie site which of course isn't unusual however the set-up revolves around their own downloadable software that is the primary way to access the content. The software itself is pretty straightforward and I'll provide more details in my Pro/Con bullet points below but that really is unusual for a porn site to have that style of set-up so it's clearly the #1 thing of note about BaDoink. The guest tour, in fact, is really just one splash page geared towards getting surfers to sign up without much of a preview of the member's area layout or content. In circumstances like this a review and site fact details like those above can be useful for you got get more insight.

The Pros

Big Archive of Full DVD Movies, Foreign & Classics Included.

The sheer quantity of movies is BaDoink's best asset. Thousands of titles are included in all kinds of popular niches ranging from broad main categories like amateur, blowjob, asian, mature, teens, etc. to more specific ones like smoking, public fucking, peeing, uniforms, etc. Basically its' a big ol' collection geared towards a mainstream audience with titles from all sorts of studios. I particularly noted the inclusion of older Classics and Foreign titles which is something you don't see from all DVD sites.

Easy to Use BaDoink Software, Includes DVD Burner & EasyOnTV.

Whenever you're dealing with a site that has proprietary software to download and install it's important to look at how easy it is to use. The software is designed for both Windows and Mac users. I'm not really a technically inclined person so if I can set it up with no trouble it must be simple. The software is a 27MB file that you can quickly download and then it opens quickly and accessing/viewing the movies is easy enough. A tutorial and help sections are available for members who want more specific direction. The content is actually full accessible thru the website itself without the software but the additional features of using it include a download manager, EasyBurner (for easier DVD burning), and EasyOnTV (for streaming content to an outside or portable device like XBox, PS3, PSP, etc.

Other Good Stuff:

Downloading the software is not required as members can access the movies thru 'BaDoink Lite' in the site's member's area. This allows for full access to the DVD content just without all the other features that the software has.
Each video scene can be streamed in Flash or downloaded in MP4 format. The Flash streams buffers quickly and allows for immmediate jumping ahead. Download speeds are quite good as I was getting around 1.5MB/sec.
Navigation and search tools are okay with niche categories, popular videos/models, and individual movies pages have hyperlinked pornstar and studio names making it easy to locate related movies.
These guys have set up a special discount price for TBP users which makes the cost lower than their standard rate.

The Cons

Using All BaDoink Features Requires Downloading Their Software.

Two things about this are worth discussing. First porn surfers like consistency and when a site strays off the beaten path a lot of users will find this too much work to get into. Second, downloading software from a porn site is something a lot of people are hesitant to do. Even though BaDoink's stuff works good just the process of having to setup this stuff is an extra step that isn't necessary at other DVD/movie sites. Even though the BaDoink Lite website access to the movies is an option many of the main selling points here clearly come from the features in software that aren't available on the Lite version.

Average Video Quality, Downloads are in MP4 Format Only.

Not surprisingly with the BaDoink software as the focus the viewing/download options aren't all that varied. The videos can be streamed in-browser with Flash or saved only as MP4 files. Really more format choices and/or some higher quality levels would have helped as many movie sites out there do have those options available.

Minor Negatives:

The content is non-exclusive and there are many familar DVD titles, scenes, and models in the collection.
Search and browse tools could be better. For instance the niche categories are really broad and every movie/scene that is the least bit semi-related is thrown into a category.

The other

BaDoink mobile is available for members who want to use the service and access movies on their mobile device.

Bottom Line

A big archive of DVD movies that can be access thru the website or their BaDoink software which has additional features.

BaDoink is one of those sites is both very familiar and very different at the same time. The DVD movie content is the type of collection that can be found on many movie sites and the quantity of movies here is the site's best feature. The fact that they have a setup revolving around a downloadable software product is quite unusual for a porn site. While the software is easy to use and well designed I know that a lot of surfers may be turned off by the concept in general.
