Intro

JAV Model is up for review today, and this is basically a Japanese DVD site featuring a wide variety of Japanese porn for our pleasure. It's pretty basic stuff, but Japanese porn does get fun with some bukkake, great costumes, and more. Since it's pulled from DVDs, the actual content is non-exclusive, so you may want to check out their tour to see what they offer exactly. $30 a month gets you in the door, which is pretty standard for these types of sites.

The Pros

Large collection!

As is the staple for most similar Asian DVD sites, there's a lot of content here. Figure for a few thousand video scenes, and you'd be pretty spot on. More content comes often, too, which should help those numbers continue to grow.

Many niches represented.

They don't go too crazy into anything different than the usual, but Japanese porn is already more unique than most. There are great costumes, lots of gangbangs, bukkake, BDSM, soapy massage, and more.

Updates come often.

Updates come on most days, and usually feature a few video clips at a time. I don't know if there's a set schedule or anything, but the updates are definitely coming in nicely here these days.

The Cons

Non-exclusive material.

As expected when you get your content from DVDs, I'm sure you've seen some of this stuff before if you're a fan of the genre. The content isn't exclusive, but at least they do make up for it in numbers.

Minor Negatives:

The downloads here were a bit on the slow side, with speeds coming in around 1/8th of my max speed. It would help if they'd allow download manager use, which only seemed to offer a single download channel for me (and making the download manager worthless unless you just like to schedule your downloads out into the future).
The streaming player is rather small here, and I'd love to see it in a larger format. Plus, it's kinda crammed in between other info, and would be nice to have it separated out.
The design here is quite dated and plain. It just makes the site feel old and out of date to me.

The other

As expected, much of the hardcore content is censored here with little blurry boxes.

Bottom Line

Not bad with a lot to see, but it feels a little clunky compared to the competition.

I don't quite know how to put it into words, but JAV Model feels a little dated to me for some reason when compared to other Japanese DVD sites. Maybe it's the design, which looks like it was done several years ago. The content itself is pretty standard, and the numbers and updates look good at least. In fact, they even throw in some categories to help you narrow the content down, which is better than most. I'd love to see a redesign here, bringing the design up to par, and expanding on the navigation options (which are still needing some upgrades due to the size here). It's not a bad join at all, but it doesn't differentiate itself enough from the crowd to make me recommend this one over many of the others out there.
