Intro

Bad Puppy is up for review today, and this is a huge, exclusive gay site that we've definitely looked at a couple times before. They've updated things over time, as expected, so it's always fun to see what's new. They have a pretty large collection of their own gay content, with a lot of solo material, and a pretty good amount of hardcore as well. They're also part of a network of sites, and you get full access to everything the company has to offer. $20 a month gets you access here, which is really a pretty good deal considering how much you get.

The Pros

Huge collection.

Size is a big deal here, and okay perverts, I'm talking about how much content they have. They're just under the 2,000 model and scene mark, which is pretty impressive for the all-exclusive content they offer here.

Exclusive gay content.

The fact that their content is all-exclusive makes the numbers that much more impressive. I'd say the content itself is pretty standard, but they make up for it in quantity. Everything is exclusive that you see for this specific site, and they mix it up with a decent amount of hardcore and solo scenes in there.

Lots of network/bonus access.

You should be in heaven if you're not too picky about your content here. There's a ton of extra material to check out, with around 17 actual sites available, plus a lot of just regular bonus content mixed in as well.

Other Good Stuff:

They add a new scene every 2-3 days, which seems to include a new model, photoset, and video. Last week brought three new updates, which isn't bad at all.
The download options are decent for the most part. Photos come in up to four different zip file sizes (though they never get that huge), while videos are offered in WMV, MPG, and MP4 options.
Some of the newer videos are offered in high definition format. It's really tough to tell which those are, except by checking out the size of the files, but it's a nice move in the right direction.
There's quite a large community section here, if you're into that. There are forums, user profiles, and a ton more to delve into if you want to make some friends.

The Cons

Navigation is pretty cluttered and confusing.

When you get into the member's area, and hit the very simple videos or galleries link up top, prepare to start the confusion. They have a page full of buttons that don't make a ton of sense right off the bat; why don't they just list their own videos and galleries when you hit the main menu links?? Find the right button, and you can find their content, but it's a pain. I didn't even see the advanced search link for a half hour or so. I'd separate all the extra content out into a different section, and really clean things up as much as possible.

Older quality is lacking.

They have content going back over a decade (according to the dates), so I guess it's expected. As you head back in time, the quality diminishes quite a bit. It's the price you pay for being offer such a large collection I guess.

Minor Negatives:

The largest photos are not able to be viewed online from what I can tell. They're available in one of the four zip files they offer, but that could be a pain for some people.
For some reason, they don't offer any streaming or Flash videos, which was surprising considering they do pretty good in terms of options otherwise.

Bottom Line

A ton of exclusive gay content, with some good promise, but it's not quite perfect yet.

Bad Puppy continues their tradition of big numbers, including both the collection size, as well as the updates. Add in the network and bonus content, and you've got just a shitload of material to wade through. In fact, that's part of the problem here. Everything is so combined together that it clutters up the whole site and makes things pretty confusing. It's tough to know what's part of Bad Puppy specifically, and what's just extra stuff. I didn't find the search function for a half hour or so, as it's not even part of the main menu of options. I think they need to separate out the bonus material (and network sites) much more, and simplify things. From there, the content is pretty good, but nothing overly unique or different (the size is still what sets them apart). The new HD video is a big upgrade, and I only hope that a lot more is added, and that they make it easier to find. The community aspect is also fun if you're into getting to know your fellow members. There's lots of promise here, but still some big things holding them back. It should be on your must-see list overall, and then you can decide if it works well for you!
