Intro

PapiCock.com is up for review today, and just the name of the site is fun to say. Here, they focus on Latino guys (as well as what they call blatino - black latinos) in both solo and hardcore gay scenes. Most of the guys look black to me, but there's some definite variety as you go through the site. They offer both photos and videos, and newer videos come in high definition. $20 a month gets you into the site, but that drops to $18 a month after five consecutive rebills.

The Pros

Unique ethnic gay content.

They do a nice little combination of niche content here, which is always a good thing in my opinion. They add in Latino and black guys to the gay content niche to keep things interesting. The guys pose solo, jack off, and also get it on in hardcore scenes for a pretty good mix overall.

Newer videos offered in HD.

They start mixing in the high definition videos from time to time about halfway through the archive, though not all of the newer ones offer it. These videos look a ton better than the older videos, and as this part of the site grows, will really help them stand out a bit.

Good-sized collection.

With over 300 scenes up, Papi Cock isn't too small at all here. I have no idea when they update, or how big they are, but they must be doing something right to get these decent numbers going.

The Cons

Navigation needs some work.

The site itself is just very plain here. There are actually a couple options including viewing just the videos, the model index, etc. Those areas can also be sorted by name, date, or rating. However, it still feels a bit simple when you're actually looking for content. The thumbnails might have something to do with it, as they don't show much of a preview of the scene at all. Plus, there are no extra features like a search, tag setup, etc.

Many galleries are just vidcaps.

I'd say they're not in the majority, but their numbers are pretty big still. It's definitely annoying to click through and see only vidcaps, without any actual photos much of the time here. There's no distinction between the two, either.

Older quality isn't as good.

Once you get out of the HD video options, the quality takes a pretty big dive. They are much smaller, much grainier, and just show a lot of artifacts overall. They also make up the (slight, I think) majority of the videos, so it definitely matters.

Minor Negatives:

There are no zip files available here for the photo galleries, which may be annoying for some.
I couldn't get the streaming WMV videos to play at all; they came up with some unknown error. The Quicktime streaming videos worked just fine.
I'm not sure when they update here. Nothing is dated, though hopefully with the decent numbers they have, the update schedule is decent as well.

Bottom Line

The decent size, scenes, and quality lately all help, but it still feels like it's lagging a bit.

Papi Cock has several things going for them here. The niche gay content is pretty cool, the newer HD videos look nice, and the scenes are fun. However, the site and navigation are pretty lackluster, and the updates are a huge question mark. The older content doesn't look as good either, which makes up a slight majority of the site. Plus, the substitution of vidcaps over photo galleries at times gets old as well. Overall, it's a very mixed bag. I think this could be fun if you're into the niche content, but I definitely have the feeling that they could still do a lot better. With a few upgrades and changes, it'd really put them farther ahead of the crowd.
