Intro

The title 80 Gays plays into their foreign/exotic guy theme that they play up further with their tagline "Around the World in 80 Gays". The content does feature solo and hardcore shoots of mostly Asian type models that also fit a bit in the twink genre as well. This company actually has a handful of sites most of which fit somehow into the Asian and/or Thai theme and members to 80 Gays do get access to their other member's area as bonus content. This site was launched in summer 2010 so at the time of this review it is new on the scene and still getting things going in terms of the content archive.

The Pros

Asian & Ethnic Twink Guys in Solo & Hardcore Scenes.

Beyond just being a gay site 80 Gays specialty are the foreign, ethnic, and asian models. Shoots include a good amount of outdoor shoots along with the indoor scenes and it's both solo guy softcore/masturbation plus hardcore guy/guy action too. The solo action seems to outnumber of the hardcore by a good margin among the current content.

High Quality Full-Scene WMV Files & Picture Gallery Zips.

The guest tour highlights the HD videos so that was something important to take a look at. Indeed they movies are in WMV downloads with levels at 1280x720 3100k. They are sharp and are a nice touch for this type of site. The pictures have solid quality with large sizes at 1200x900 and can be viewed only or saved in zip files.

Other Good Stuff:

Galleries are date-stamped with update information showing when they were added to the site.
Clear file size information is posted for each movie and gallery zip.
Included company bonus sites have similar Asian/Thai/Twink content which 80 Gays' members should enjoy.

The Cons

Not Many Videos, Fairly Small Amount of Content Overall.

The impression I got from the guest tour was one that emphasized movie content however that's not the case. The total number of videos is very small with only a handful available. As it stands the pictures far outnumber of the videos so mostly that's what you're getting here. This review was conducted not long after the site was launched so this is something we'll have to check in on in the future.

Just the One Video Format & Quality Level Option.

While the video specs are solid there's no choice with viewing options. The only format is WMV with the one quality level. No in-browser streaming player is available either. When a site does have high-def level movies it's rare that they only have that one option and don't have more varied choices including a more standard level or at least one more format.

Minor Negatives:

Videos aren't date-stamped like the photo galleries. Based on the update log the video updates are very slow and intermittent.
There are some shoot summaries but no real model info. With these foreign/ethnic guys it would help to have some background info especially country of origin.
Organization is basic with just gallery and video sections. There's no breakdown by type of shoots like hardcore/softcore, indoor/outdoor, etc.

The other

Company bonus sites are linked to from the 80 Gays navigation header and login re-entry is not required when browsing between sites.
A 'Travel Blog' section is available in the member's area however there really aren't any entries there to speak of yet.

Bottom Line

80 Gays has mostly picture content & some videos of Asian & ethnic twink models.

Our reviews here at TBP are a snapshot in time which can be a bit of an issue for a site like 80 Gays which is new on the scene. The HD videos are a positive but that's offset by the fact that there are only a handful of them available. Right now I'm unsure if they're going to get on the ball and add more or if this will continue to mostly be a picture site. As it stands it's a good thing the bonus sites are included since they do have similar models/material and help to offset this site's quantity shortcomings.
