Intro

Download Pass is up for review today, and they look like a pretty typical DVD site you'd come across. They feature a ton of content, a ton of updates, and a wide variety of material (including gay and tranny content as well). Since stats are all pretty similar, a site like this comes down to content selections (some sites offer different studios than others), navigation and download options, and price. Thankfully, the last one is definitely covered here with a special price of just $10 a month if you click through from our site.

The Pros

Large site.

As with any similar DVD site, there's a lot of damn content here for sure. Their cool little counter puts them at over 7,000 DVDs for over 37,000 scenes currently. The additions each day are pretty large as well, so those numbers should rise pretty quickly.

Large daily updates.

It varies a little bit each day, but several new DVDs are always added. Today they put up 32 new scenes, and tomorrow will be 27, to give you an idea. That's a lot of new content.

Other Good Stuff:

Their streaming software is pretty cool. It offers up thumbnail previews as you hover over the timeline (so you know where you're jumping). It also offers a couple quality options, and loads pretty quick.
$10 a month is hard to beat. Granted, that's not the normal price, but as long as you click through from here (and live in the US), you should get the very nice discount going.

The Cons

Navigation could be even better.

They have all the basics here for navigation, including searching by category, model, studio, etc., but it's a bit simplified compared to other sites. For instance, you can only choose a single category at a time, and then must use the search box to filter it down further. It works just as expected, but it takes an extra step (or two, or three depending on how specific you are) to do the same thing other sites can do in a single step. You can search by both DVD and individual video scene at least!

Quality needs work still.

Granted, these all comes from DVDs, so the quality is obviously limited to the product at hand. However, I don't think they're the best-looking DVD scenes I've seen. There's some room for improvement, as I didn't even really see any of the scenes offer anything in the "high" quality range at all

Minor Negatives:

I wouldn't mind more video options still. The streaming works great, and they usually have a mobile and regular MP4 file, but that's it. Some of the best sites offer 3-4 video types, so I think some more options wouldn't hurt here (plus maybe some clips, different quality levels, etc.).

The other

There's a wide variety of content here. Most DVD sites stick with straight content, but here they also offer gay and tranny. It's good in that it gives you some variety, but bad if you're not into those (as it just inflates the content counts).

Bottom Line

A very nice collection overall that covers most all of your DVD needs.

As I mentioned, standing out in the DVD-site world is pretty tough these days. Download Pass is a fine site overall, but it tends to blend in a bit with all the other DVD sites out there these days. Of course they offer a ton of content and updates, but that's expected. The price is great here, which definitely helps as well. The only other cool feature is their streaming player, which offers more options than most. Navigation is decent, but not quite top dog in terms of other sites. You choose one category to browse through at a time, and their list of categories seems on the small side. You can then use the search box to narrow those down a bit further at least. Videos are streaming or downloadable, but only in MP4 format (why not offer at least one other?). Quality is okay, but I think they can still squeeze a little more out of the DVD scenes there as well. All in all, it's a nice site, but I was hoping for something unique to draw you in to this one vs. all the others that are available. It may come down to the content offered, so check out if you see some favorites here first.
