Intro

Private.com is one of those companies that has an established history. They are a European print magazine business with several publications plus they produce DVD movies. This is their flagship online presence featuring a mix of magazine archives, photo content, video content, and some community features. The guest tour is pretty informative with sections like stars, movies, and magazines which gives surfers a nice overview of what they're all about.

The Pros

Big Collection of Private Photo Galleries & Movies.

This is a well balanced collection of content in terms of having large sections dedicated to both picture galleries and movies. There are over a thousand picture galleries and several hundred full-length DVDs totaling a couple thousand scenes. All is from Private and it is best geared towards those who enjoy professional studio style porn.

Magazine Archives 1965-present, PDF/JPG Downloads.

Whenever I review a print-mag company this is the first thing I go looking for. It's just fun to go thru those and its something of value that not many paysites can offer. In Private's case they have archives for all their publications along with Special Editions and Books. The Private mag is the best section with things categorized by decade going back to the first issue in 1965. All of the site's issues can be viewed online or downloaded in full as in JPEG zip files and newer ones have PDF and JPEG options.

Nice Quality Large Picutres, Gallery Zip Files.

Picture quality here is pretty solid with newer images coming in at 1200x800. That size and sharpness is steady back for several years which is good to see. Zip files are a constant and each gallery across the site has those available for download.

Full-Scene WMV Files & Full-DVD MP4 Files.

These are the video downloading options. Movies are broken into scenes which can be saved as WMV files in two quality levels. Full-DVD files are another choice that are MP4 h264 format. Full-movie files like this is something you don't usually see so they are a notable plus.

Other Good Stuff:

Flash streaming is also available in addition to the WMV and MP4 download choices.
Daily updates are made on the site. A log is available on the member's home page.
Galleries and videos are date-stamped with update information showing when they were added to the site.
These guys have set up a special discount price for TBP users which makes the cost lower than their standard rate.

The Cons

Navigation is Choppy, Needs Better Browsing Tools.

The navigation just isn't as developed as it should be for a collection this size. Separate sections like Stars, Magazines, and Movies are in place however the sub-categorization therein is lacking. For instance there isn't really any movie categorization or a full model index. On the individual movie pages the performer names are shown but not hyperlinked to find related content. Picture gallery navigation is also too basic.

Slow Downloading Speed, Couldn’t Use Download Manager.

The site downloading speed is quite slow at 200K-300K/sec. I was also unable to use Internet Download Manager to get the files. The downloading speed is especially painful when trying to get the full-DVD files which are quite large.

Lesser Pic Quality & Vid Options on Older Content.

The photo galleries here date back to the year 2000 and on the older galleries the larger images are not available. These simply have medium/low sized pics. Also, the older movies don't have the full-DVD MP4 format. The movie catalog has entries going back to 2005.

Minor Negatives:

The downloadable movie files and picture gallery zip files do not have any file size information posted.
It's necessary to click on each picture a second time in order to bring up the large high-res image. A medium sized pic opens initially.
There are some upsells in the member's area like DVDs and Live Shows.

Bottom Line

Full magazine archives, photo galleries, & downloadable movies from this European magazine/DVD company.

Private has about what I expect from a publisher of this kind. The full magazine archives and the downloadable PDF/JPG files are a nice touch that is the centerpiece of the collection in my mind. In addition they have a sizable collection of photo galleries and downloadable DVD movies for fans of professionally produced content or those who enjoy European porn. With so much content the one area they could really improve on is the navigation in order to make certain types of content and/or models easier to find. Also the download speed is a negative that's really hurts the site.
