Intro

HDK stands for HotDesertKnights which is a gay production company and this site features a collection of their video and picture content. Mainly this is a hardcore site with bareback sex and you'll find things like groupsex and fisting so they definitely venture into more extreme areas than just one-on-one sex. The site has been around since 2008 which isn't all that long however it seems they have utilized the fact that they're a production studio and built up a pretty big archive on this site in a fairly short period of time.

The Pros

Hardcore Studio Collection, Bareback Guy/Guy, Groupsex, Fisting, Etc.

HDK offers up a collection of videos and photo that's well suited for a production studio of this kind. There is just all kinds of hardcore one-on-one, groupsex, and more extreme action along with some solo guy stripping/masturbation as well. As is to be expected the videos are almost all hardcore and then the photo galleries have more of a mix between the hardcore and solo guys. Overall it's a quality collection of their own exclusive material and entertainment value is HDK's best asset.

Large & Balanced Collection, 100's of Both Videos & Pictures

As I noted in my introduction HDK has compiled a sizable archive even though the site has been around for just a few years. Initially I guessed it was much older just from the amount of picture and videos they have online. Picture galleries outnumber the videos by a couple hundred but generally speaking it's fairly balanced collection which is appropriate considering it's a studio based site.

Good Content Viewing/Download Options, Pretty Fast Download Speeds.

HDK has consistent content options which is a plus. The videos have full-scene WMV and iPod/MP4 files available for download. They also have in-browser Flash and WMV streaming. Photo galleries can be viewed online or downloaded in zips. I experienced fast download speeds from this site at about 1.6MB/sec on my 20MBps connection. Considering the video files come in around 150-300MB on average that makes for fast saving. My download manger (IDM) also worked great.

Other Good Stuff:

Site updates almost daily. Galleries/videos are date-stamped with update information showing when they were added to the site.
File size, length, and preview thumbnails are provided for each video.
Company bonus sites are included with additional hardcore content with more specific niches and fetishes.

The Cons

Navigation is Too Basic, No Niche Categorization or Model Index.

Whereas the content is the star of the show for HDK the navigation and site set-up does leave something to be desired. The good thing is it's not cluttered and straightforward with picture and videos sections showing items in chronological order. There's nothing beyond that though. No model index is provided nor are the model names hyperlinked on the individual shoot pages. With so much content and varied types of action some sort of niche breakdown would really help. For a site of this size I was surprised at the lack of navigation tools.

Video Quality is Fairly Average, Could Use Higher-Res Option.

The picture quality is more impressive than the videos on HDK. Pics reach high-res level by TBP content standards but at 1500k 720x480 the video quality is only satisfactory. This is where being a production studio might hurt them a bit in that I expect a professional company like this to have higher res options on the videos. I'd say if most members had a choice they would opt for higher res videos than pictures. Here it's the other way around.

Minor Negatives:

After opening a picture you must click on the image a second time to bring up the full-sized high-res pic.
The search function is a simple keyword search that brings back hit-and-miss results.

Bottom Line

A nice source of videos & picture galleries from the Hot Desert Knights studio.

For HDK the positives outweigh the negatives. I really like that even though the site only dates back to 2008 they have a nice sized archive. There's room for improvement on the video quality and site navigation tools but the star of the show here is the content. All told this is the type of collection you like to see from a studio.
