Intro

Desperate Amateurs is a site for when you're "tired of phony porn." These are real amateurs in real sex scenes. There are no faked orgasms and no editing of awkward moments, just regular people have real sex. There are a lot of newbies here who can't help but let their real emotions come across in these scenes.

The Pros

Exclusive amateur content.

This is one of those great, really original collections of amateur porn. I got the impression that the webmaster is genuinely interested in what his members want to see and works to meet those needs. The result is real amateur content unlike what you'll find on other sites. Sometimes the guy loses his erection. Sometimes the couple is super nervous and that comes across in the scene. Sometimes the couple is a real-life couple who just goes with their usual flow. You'll find squirters, lesbians, first-timers, and more.

Other Good Stuff:

Members have a few options for viewing the videos. Each video is divided into scenes (interview, oral, fooling around, sex, etc) These scenes can be downloaded as wmvs and movs. The newer videos also include a complete video where you get everything except the interview in one big file. These are some useful options.
The design is very clean. It's not the most exciting look I've seen (it looks really non-porn) but it's clean and the colors look good.
Membership is very inexpensive. It costs just $13 a month to be a member here, which is great for a site with original content.

The Cons

No browse tools.

The set-up here is extremely basic. You get a list of scenes in the order they were added and that is it. Each scene and all its video links are listed on one page, so you're left to scroll and scroll and scroll through their page of content. There is no model index, no categories, and no search tools. As the site grows, more tools are definitely going to be needed.

Small collection.

Desperate Amateurs is still a fairly small site. There are currently just 69 videos online, and only 47 of those are actually exclusive. Granted, some of these scenes are long, totaling around an hour long! There just aren't all that many videos online yet.

Minor Negatives:

Downloads were a bit slow. They came in at around 10% of the speed I've seen on other sites. It took quite a while to download these videos.
There are no photos here, just vidcaps.

Bottom Line

Originality and personality in the bag, but the site could be more advanced.

Desperate Amateurs has a lot of potential and I could see this site having a very devout following of fans. The originality and personality here definitely make the site stand out. There are a few issues, including the size of the site and the navigation. I also found the content quality to just be very average. However, it's priced appropriately and I think a lot of amateur lovers will find the site to be a hidden gem.
