Intro

XXX Rewind is up for review today, and this is a DVD site that focuses on classic porn, mostly from the 1970's through the 1990's. They have a lot of your old-school favorites, plus some pretty obscure porn that barely survived the tape it was shot on. We get a decent number of requests for sites like this, so it's always nice to check out a classic porn site. Thanks to a special discount for our users, you can get in for just $10 a month, which is an awesome price.

The Pros

Fun classic porn scenes.

As I mentioned earlier, there are definitely people out there who are interested in these old porn classics. The sex might not be as wild, but sometimes there are just memories and favorites that have a special place in your weiner's heart I guess. It's fun to get a glimpse at what people thought was crazy from 20 years ago for sure.

Pretty large site.

As with any DVD site, you expect some good numbers here. It's not huge, but they offer over 400 DVDs currently, which should keep you busy for a while. Each DVD has several scenes of course, so there's a lot to see overall.

Other Good Stuff:

They have all of the basic navigation options covered, with lists of actresses, categories, video titles, etc. to browse through.
The streaming player is really fast here, and also offers a preview as you hover over the timeline. It's a nice, simple setup that works well.
$10 a month is an awesome price for gaining access here. It's definitely one of the cheapest sites you'll come across these days.

The Cons

Updates have been pretty slow lately.

They have a date at the top of the page that seems to refresh each day at midnight. When you hit the link to view the most recent DVDs added, the last one was over three weeks ago. Before that, updates came every 2-3 days or so, so I don't know what's going on right now with new content.

Quality isn't the best, as expected.

When you're dealing with some tapes that have been sitting around for decades probably, doing the encoding into digital format isn't going to fix all the problems. There are some doozies here that look horrible, though most are okay.

Minor Negatives:

Video downloads only come in mp4 format. There are a couple options there, but for a video site, they need more choices.
There are no scene descriptions here, which makes the little search box on top rather useless for some terms. You'll just have go guess from the few preview thumbs what is offered in the scene.
There are no zip files available here for the photo galleries, which may be annoying for some.

Bottom Line

The site was pretty much as expected, though you get a lot of classic porn for a great price.

XXX Rewind didn't really blow my mind in terms of the site or options. Everything is pretty basic, and just as it was expected to be. In the end, the best thing going here is that you get over 400 classic porn DVDs for just $10 a month, which is a pretty good deal overall. Navigation was fine, with all the basic options covered, but nothing too advanced. Quality was hit or miss as the old porn they had to encode sometimes just didn't survive the last few decades in very good condition. The only other issue I have is the updates lately, which appear to have stopped for the last month or so; before that, a new DVD was added every couple days. Hopefully it's a temporary thing, but who knows. With no surprises either way, this site won't win any awards, but I think it's a decent destination to get a little nostalgic with some favorites from the days of yore.
