Wild Dolls is up for review today, and when I hit the tour up, it was a little different from what I was expecting. They seem to focus more on all the video options they have than actual naked chicks in the tour. They offer almost 2,000 videos to browse through, and a lot of them seem to be non-exclusive. They offer everything from high-definition video all the way down through iPhone videos as well. They have quite a mixed collection of content that looks to come from DVD's; there are even quite a few foreign movies available. You can join for $25 a month, which is pretty middle of the road I guess.
The Pros
Lots of videos up!
It's not quite as big as most DVD sites, but it's not as small as most paysites. They have almost 2,000 scenes online right now to check out, which is a decent-sized collection. The size of the site is definitely one of their strong suits.
Some HD videos available.
I wouldn't call that section large, but there are some high-definition videos available here to check out. The quality on them is good enough, and I was surprised to see something so high-tech on this particular site.
Totally separate iPhone version of site.
You wouldn't know it by just looking around too easily, but they have a whole separate version of the site catered to the iPhone. My one gripe was that you had to enter you login info again on the iPhone site, but videos played fine after that. It's very small and simple, and doesn't offer any features (such as search, which would help a ton), but it's nice to see them trying something different.
Other Good Stuff:
The DVD's they offer are different from the stuff you see on most sites, with lots of foreign movies making their way in.
The scenes can be fun, if you find the right one. There's lots of fucking and different niches here.
The Cons
Navigation is a mess.
They only have a few categories available to choose from on their menu, but once you've picked one, it's just an utter mess here. The layout to browse the movies is pretty bad, and they give you no real preview except for the box cover (which can be listed up to six times of course). The categorization is nice to have, but I feel the list is incomplete and could be better.
Many movies play in-browser only.
For being a movie site, I was really surprised at the lack of downloads here, and the lack of options overall for videos. Many of them play only in your browser, which sucks for those of us used to downloading everything first.
In-browser player is missing functions.
It could be a weird setup issue on my computer, but I've had similar video setups work just fine before. I was missing any kind of toolbar to stop, play, rewind, etc. on the videos. I was able to jump around a bit haphazardly, but I have no idea where the actual player buttons were.
Quality is just okay.
Besides the HD video section I mentioned, the quality just isn't that great here overall. The videos in your browser look pixelated at times, and it doesn't help that some of the videos seem quite old.
Minor Negatives:
There are no update dates or anything posted, so I have no clue how often, or when, they add new material.
The few movies you can download come in zip files, which just adds an extra step in the process that made it take that much longer.
Most content seems to be non-exclusive here from what I can tell.
The design of the site is incredibly plain.
Bottom Line
There's some interesting stuff here, but overall it needs major work for PC users.
Please note that the review here is 90% based on the version of the site you'll see when browsing from your computer, though they do have a mobile version of the site as well. I like how much content they offer of course, and some of the DVD's are quite unique that you won't just see on any other DVD site out there. However, when you browse on your computer, the site is just a mess. The design is bad, the layout doesn't work, and the lack of downloads is a huge bummer these days. Lackluster quality finishes of the list of problems, and there's just too much wrong here for me to really have any fun. I'd love to see them keep the content, but re-do the whole site to make it more user-friendly.
The iPhone version of the site is a nice touch, and it looks a little cleaner than the PC version at least. It's still very simple, and could use some categories or a search feature. However, the videos obviously look a little better on the small screen, which is a plus.
