Intro

Wicked Pictures is one of those really well known companies where surfers have certain expectations going in. What they have available here is a sizable collection of downloadable full DVD movies with both newer releases more classic titles from years back. There is also additional things photo galleries and behind-the-scenes and appearance content however the centerpiece is definitely the DVDs. Studio collection like this are a good change of pace from general movie sites that have a mix of titles from various companies. Seeing as Wicked is one of the bigger and better known studios that gives the site some appeal just based on the name alone.

The Pros

Lots of Wicked DVD Content, Current & Classic Titles.

The main focus of the member's area are the Wicked DVD movies which can be viewed either by full DVD or by scene. There are hundreds of full length movies which equates to several thousand individual scenes. The add one new DVD per week so multiple scenes are added each week. The titles include present releases along with movies from back to the 1990's so it covers quite a range of material. There is also a 'Bonus Video' section with behind-the-scenes and appearance which is offered in the same streaming and download options as the main movies.

MP4 Downloads, Newer Vids in HD, Full-Scene & Full-DVD Files.

Movies downloads are in MP4 format with full DVD and full-scene files available. The full DVD option is something that's pretty rare to see so that was a surprising positive. Quality has been increased to HD 1280x720 on the latest additions which constitute around 25-30% that have that level. Standard quality MP4 is available on all titles as are iPod portable MP4 files.

Date Info on Every Movie/Scene, Model Index Available.

Going through the archive the date-stamps are helpful since it enables you to track update but also the oldest additions here have dates back to the 1990's which lets you know which ones are more classics compared to current content. A sortable model index is the main navigation tool in addition to the main DVD and scene indexes. The models list includes sorting alphabetically and section like most active and exclusive girls.

Other Good Stuff:

Along with the download options high quality Flash streaming is available which looks great and allows for immediate jumping ahead. Like the downloads you can view full-scenes or full-DVDs on the streaming.
Download speeds are quite good as I was getting around 1.3-1.8MB/sec which is better than I see on most paysites. Of course this can vary however these faster speeds are on par with what previous TBP reviewers have noted.
While they're not doing live cam shows on this site any longer an archive of past shows is available with streaming/downloadable video files.
These guys have set up a special discount price for TBP users which makes the cost lower than their standard rate.

The Cons

MP4 Only Download Format, Most Videos Don't Have HD Level.

The main thing surfers should take note of on the video formatting is that they don't have WMV format available. MP4 is the sole option for downloading and then there is the Flash streaming. The majority of the movies don't have the HD quality level in place so while that's a nice feature it is relatively new and on a minority of the movies.

Needs Additional Navigation Tools Like Niche Categorization.

This version of the Wicked site is a reworked member's area and one thing they left off was the niche browsing and search or some sort of filter tool. Aside from the model index there aren't niche categories. Sometimes there are niches shown on individual movies pages however they aren't hyperlinked and therefore not really useful for finding related content. This collection could definitely use some tools like tags on the movies with HD and/or a section dedicated to classics only.

Minor Negatives:

Live shows stopped for a long period of time however they should be resuming as of September 2011 with monthly shows.
There are quite a number of models in the model index that don't have preview thumbnail pictures available. This does impact the usefulness of this feature.
The downloadable movie files do not have any file size information posted. Also, the Flash streaming can take a 10-15 seconds to load/buffer on the high-def level.
There are some upsell ads in the member's area for other paysites, DVDs, and live cams. The trial membership is also partial access with a high monthly recurring rate.

The other

Photo galleries are availabl on the movies although they serve more as supporting/secondary content. They can be viewed online (size ~900x600) or saved in zips.
Members can post feedback and comments on the movies and also select a like/dislike rating.

Bottom Line

A solid & sizable archive of Wicked DVDs along with some photos & behind-the-scenes content too.

For a studio like Wicked the main thing you're looking for is a bunch of their movies and they do nicely in terms of quantity and the inclusion of high-quality movies and behind-the-scenes stuff helps too. They could ratchet up the update pace as one DVD per week is slower than I expected. Also the search and navigation needs improvement and I'm not sure if they're planning any upgrades like that on this newer layout. Surfers may also not like that they have only MP4 for downloading with no WMV in place which is unusual for a movies site of this kind. The discount price is cool however that's offset a bit by upsells and cross-sells that they have.
