Wasteland is an extreme fetish site that has been shocking and entertaining members since 1995. They call themselves “the web’s oldest and largest BDSM and fetish site” and I can assure you that is true. They’ve been featured numerous times in both adult and mainstream arenas so there’s a good chance you’ve heard of Wasteland at some point in your porn surfing days. A quick peek at the preview pics on the tour is sure to have you intrigued and apprehensive about what you’ll find inside.
The Goods –
You’re sure to find some of the wildest fetish content you’ve seen before on Wasteland. Speculums, ropes, chains, and gags are the norm here. Then you get into things like hot wax, pregnant brides, and golden showers. They top it off with pins and needles punishment, weights and clamps, mousetraps, and even some cactus play. You never know what you’ll find as you dig deeper into their archive.
They’ve got an absolutely huge collection of content. There are over 750,000 pictures and over 10,000 movies. There are pages and pages of material and it’s no wonder considering they’ve been online for 13 years now. This really is a massive fetish collection.
Some of the collection is exclusive. They’ve got a section titled Wasteland Original Movies and Wasteland Original Images where you can find their own stuff. There may be other exclusive stuff scattered throughout, but you can definitely find some of it there.
The personality and extras are some of the strongest aspects of Wasteland. They’ve got a forum, information on BDSM in general, fetish fiction, resources, and much more. It’s not just a bunch of filler links they’ve thrown up either. The webmasters genuinely care about these fetishes and providing members with interesting material.
Updates are good-sized. Each Friday, a new “edition” is added to the site. Each addition includes 4 or so videos, 7 or so galleries, a couple articles, a new story, and other information and features. It may not be exactly daily updates, but they’re still adding plenty of new material each week.
The newest content really looks good. They’ve got a handful of high definition movies that play at 2000k and are 1280x720 in size. They look quite sharp! It’s good to see that they’re keeping up with the times.
The Bads –
The price is a bit high. Membership costs $35 a month. The cost is understandable, considering how much unique fetish content you’re actually getting. Still, it’ll cost quite a bit if you want to stick around.
Navigation could be easier. Let me tell you, it has been cleaned up a LOT since our initial review of the site a few years ago. However, they still need more tools for getting around. This is such a big collection that categories, a model index, and an advanced search feature are absolute musts that are missing.
Quality varies. What else can you expect from a site with 13 years worth of content? Of course the older stuff doesn’t look as sharp as the newer material. With that said, there’s a lot of content that looks well below average. The photos are small and the videos are grainy. It’s gotten better with time, but there’s a lot of sub-par material.
Conclusion –
If the “darker side of desire” sounds appealing to you, there’s no doubt you should check out Wasteland. The size of their collection is unmatched in the fetish world. The personality of the site and dedication of the webmaster is also very impressive. It isn’t cheap and it isn’t perfect. Wasteland really is in a class by itself and it’s a site that anyone who enjoys a little kink should try.
