Virtual Models is a small site dedicated to content featuring POV scenes (where you get to watch the fucking from your Point of View, as though you were filming the video). It's not a real new concept, but one that doesn't get played up too much from what I've seen lately. Your $20 membership fee gets you access to just this one site, which only has 13 models up currently. On top of that, updates aren't dated and seem a little slow, so hopefully they can get this content count up sometime soon.
The goods:
- Exclusive content. I actually had a hard time finding some good specifics to mention, but at least their content is exclusive I guess. If it weren't, they'd be in a world of trouble as I'm not terribly impressed with the site here.
- Updates do come (slowly). Nothing is dated, and they don't come often, but the site has grown since we were here last. In the last 1.5-2 months, they've added four photo galleries and three videos.
- Decent download options. Pictures come in two sizes, plus a zip file for the whole gallery at once. Videos are offered in DivX, streaming WMV, and iPod (Quicktime) format as well. So the selection is good here!
The bads:
- Small site. With just 13 videos and 16 photo galleries, they're not winning any size contests here. On top of that, growth seems pretty slow, so don't expect these numbers to change much in the near future.
- Updates aren't dated, seem slow. I've mentioned this a couple times already, but nothing is dated here. The last month and a half has yielded just four new galleries and three videos, which isn't a ton unfortunately.
- Video quality needs work. The DivX is your best bet, but even that has some jagged lines here and there. The streaming WMV option has artifacts all over the place as well. Overall, a bump in quality would be helpful.
- Pictures seem over-airbrushed. I thought at first that the pictures were over-exposed vidcaps, but that wasn't it. Something just didn't look right. I think they mess with the coloring, exposure, and airbrush too much here, leaving the pictures with a weird overall feel.
Conclusion:
Virtual Models has an okay idea, but they haven't really done much with it. The site is pretty disappointing to me. The small collection is the worst, followed by the slow updates. Add in content that wasn't too impressive, and it's just not a great mix overall. Fix any or all of these and the site could be better, but for now it just wasn't too fun for me.
