I think people are taking notice of our top list and how many video sites we have listed in there. New, similar sites are popping up like crazy nowadays, and today we're looking at one of those which is called Video Hub. It looks the same as most of the others right off the bat (even the color scheme fits right in). The price is right in the middle at $20 a month, and that gets you access to their whole collection of fully downloadable videos.
The goods:
- Lots of content up. It's a basic necessity here, but at least they deliver with over 500 DVD's online right now. I'd like to think this list is growing all the time too, but I'm not sure if or when they're adding new material.
- DivX videos look good. They take 2-3 times as long to download, but I'd say it's worth it if you're a video freak. They're not the best I've ever seen, but they're 10 times better than the WMV counterparts. They don't quite live up to the specs promised in the tour, but they do come in at 640x480 and 1500kbps which is good enough for now.
The bads:
- Browsing is okay, but could be better. They offer the option to browse for DVD's by category, studio, and pornstar. They also offer a favorites section, and the most popular DVD's. Their category selection is decent (once you click to see them all), but I clicked on one and only one scene in the whole DVD had that type of content. A way to browse through scenes as well is a big key I'd say they're missing. There's no search feature, no way to browse more than one category at a time, etc.
- WMV files need better quality. I knew before even opening one once I saw the bitrates that it wasn't good news. If you want to compete against the fantastic video sites out there, you really have to step it up on the basics like video quality which just didn't really happen here.
- Not sure when updates come. They have a most recent videos section, but unless you keep an eye on it, you have no idea when something new is up since there are no dates. Their tour says they add some new stuff weekly, but that doesn't really mean much to me right now.
- I couldn't get my download manager to work. A small annoyance, but with large files I really would have preferred a download manager to get everything which I couldn't get to work. I think they either turned that off on purpose, or their crazy long URL's (that seem to forward you around a bit) just weren't working.
- Some random other URL on the video watermarks. I'm not sure where they got this stuff, but I don't think it's exclusive, and the watermark on the videos points to some other random site for some reason. Maybe it's an old site of theirs, but it looks pretty unprofessional if you ask me.
Conclusion:
I'd say overall, the good things about this site are the good things on most other video sites; there's a lot to see, and the videos can look decent. Beyond that, it's an okay site for what it is, but not quite up to the level of the competition quite yet. At least it's not more expensive, so it may be worth a look if you need something new.

At first glance, Video Hub looks pretty similar as it did on our last visit. The site and video quality all look identical, and there aren't really any big changes I can see. However, they do have an updates page now, but it shows the last update was at the beginning of 2007. On top of that, several of the studios they used to have are gone now, bringing the content count down by a couple hundred DVD's. That's not a good thing to see at all! It's not a bad site still, but with less content and no current updates, the score will definitely drop a bit.
Score decreased from 81.0 to 76.5.
