As one of the best adult sites online for a number of years now, it's no wonder Video Box continues to expand its empire and re-define DVD sites by setting standards to levels that are hard to match by the rest of the industry. And fittingly so, they also continue to re-define their own site (We're up to VB3) by offering users more membership, browsing and download options than you'll find anywhere else. Not to mention that their selection of close to 13,000 DVD's is one of the largest around, and updates with 5 new titles daily. A great deal for sure especially considering the low, low price tag of just $12 bucks per month.
The Pros
Large Collection of DVD Content.
VideoBox offers a massive library for its users. There are currently close to 13,000 full-length DVD's (72,600 scenes) in their collection. Between the 97 niche categories users are likely to find exactly what they're in the mood for, and even some rarities like hairy, transsexuals, watersports, pregnant, Indian, and even twins. Newly added are scenes from Jules Jordan and Anabolic Studios.
Channels Offer More Original Content.
While you won't find exclusively shot scenes here you will find some original content. Thanks to the addition of content coming in from other exclusive sources, Video Box has created Channels. These include content from Kink ( $35), Reality Kings ( $15), Evil Angel, Vivid, and Video Box Men ( $8).
5 Daily DVD Updates.
5 new full DVD update are added daily. As if the archive weren't large enough, VideoBox continues to keep things growing steady.
Quality Videos/Downloads.
DVD quality videos are some of the best around with streams as high as 8000k (720x480), although many times the bitrates are closer to 6000k (640x480) and even sometimes 3000k, which is still incredible.
The videos offering HD specs look really nice with bitrate speeds around 6000k. Currently there are more than 440 of them.
Great Download Options.
Members have plenty of choices for how they want to watch their movies. There are three WMV options, along with an mp4 (H.264) and iPhone file. You can also create custom downloads, starting and stopping at the exact points in the scene that you choose.
Awesome Streaming Player.
Similar to the custom downloads, you can also create custom streams. Using the filmstrip, you choose where in the action you want your stream to begin and where you want it to end. With the instant buffering, there's no delay to enjoying your favorite parts of all the scenes.
Advanced Navigation.
The site design and navigational options are second to none. Users can browse by category, stars, studios, and or series with multiple filters that allow you to find some very specific content based on your requirements (you can even subtract things you don't want to see in your results using the cool new or - too system). A 5 star rating system has is in place, and enables members to rate scenes and browse personal recommendations based on those ratings and favorites.
User profiles can be set up with your choice of one of the many avatars. And a newly added option that I haven't seen before is that some scenes offer you the ability to "Watch With a Live Girl". I'm not 100% sure how that works, but it's a cool option nonetheless.
Other Good Stuff:
Some of the more advanced features include the favorites folder called "my stash" which allows for multiple filing folders to keep things organized. The new Flow Mode tool is a cool way to get ideas for scenes to watch all the while filtering through certain specifics - it's cool - try it!
Plenty of info is available about each scene. They list the stars, director, categories, studio, date added, scene lengths, and individual file sizes.
Fair price. Just $12 bucks per month for DVD quality videos, and a lot of them.
The Cons
Non-Exclusive DVD Content.
As with most of the large collection DVD sites, the videos here are non-exclusive and can likely be found elsewhere online. They have their premium channels (see below), but they'll cost you extra, and still aren't even 100% exclusive.
Minor Negatives:
Smallish # of HD video content. This is a very minor gripe, since many other DVD sites have no HD videos yet, but since VideoBox does everything else ahead of the curve, I will say I'll hope to see even more here soon and with higher quality specs.
Inconsistent video quality. Newer movies play at up to 9000k while older scenes are less than half that.
In-browser downloads were slow for me, topping out at only 400KB in some instances.
Bottom Line
There's no better place to get your DVD porn fix - enjoy!
Video Box version 3 is the latest and greatest & it certainly is looking great! Their search and filter tools have always been above and beyond, and the added ability to not just add multiple categories to your filter but remove categories you're not interested in is really cool. Clearly this is a site that thrives on competition, and with innovative viewing, downloading, navigational and user options, I don't see them being knocked from their top spot any time soon. This just might be the best adult site online, and is obviously the top choice for DVD downloads.
