This is our 3rd follow-up (and 4th look) at Ten.com, so you know what that means? Re-review (AKA "Official II")! This is the first time we've implemented this feature and I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. Obviously Ten.com scored awesomely with us from the very beginning, but as time has gone by and we've looked at more and more sites, the criteria for "the best of the best" changes some. Right away I notice a few scores that could be changed a bit, but first let’s start with the facts; Ten.com offers one very nice-sized archive of DVD content online, with over 5,000+ videos that stream as high as 1000k. Some, but not all, scenes are DRM protected and the price of admission will cost you about $20 bucks per month.
The Good:
- Upon entry the site design might look overwhelming to some, but don't fear, it's actually quite easy to navigate the site and there are plenty of search options to help you do so. You can search by title, sexual conduct, star, physical traits, clothing preferences, setting, types of toys used, studio, etc. MY only complaint about this is that you can't search/filter the videos by multiple terms/categories. A My Ten Section allows members to create an "alias", post video reviews & comments, add your favorites, and see your most recently viewed clips.
- There's a ton of video content to go through, too. Lot's of great variety and all your hardcore & fetish favorites: fingerbanging, voyeurism, anal, ATM, creampies, MILF, leather, latex and more.
- A multitude of download options are available in both Real Media and Windows Media (220k, 500k, and 1000k). There are even options for your mobile phone and iPOD player.
- $20 bucks per month for all this is certainly a reasonable price.
The Bad:
- I know it's often, but I can't tell you exactly how often Ten.com offers new video scenes.
- Even though they've started offering 1000k downloads & streams, video quality really could be even higher, especially considering today’s' standard is closer to 1500k-2000k. 1000k is still an improvement from where they started, but I'd like to see the quality even better!
- Videos are DRM protected, which means you must remain a member in order to view your downloaded videos.
- I feel the navigation & designed could be more streamlined so that the pages don't look so cluttered. I'd also like to see multiple layers for filtering the content with the search feature.
The Conclusion:
Wow - what can I say? I'm sad to say that Ten.com's score might drop some for me overall; I'm just not as impressed as I was when we were first here over 3 years ago and unfortunately they've fallen behind in what has become the trend for high quality video sites with supped up navigational/viewing options. Don't get me wrong, this is still a great video site and one that deserves to be revered by many. The videos are down right enjoyable to watch and the search feature is awesome for the most part! Best of all is the price, which is more than fair for a site like this. I hope to see more good things from Ten.com in the future. They were one of the first video sites to hit the scene and even though they've fallen behind a bit in my eyes, they're still one of the best.
